I guess your point is to stop the enrichment and see if he can make HMT by P5 on his own. I think this depends on your assessment whether the enrichment is adding any value to his learning of the subject. Even with enrichment, it is not guarantee the child can make HMT, right ?

Subject-based banding ie standard versus foundation usually applies to the other 3Core subjects.

As for benefit of doing HMT in primay school, besides apply for SAP secondary school, there is also the longer term impact of secondary->JC admission (minus 2 points for HMT).
This is definitely good sharing of information, cafelatte.
I just kaypo here awhile to tell you that myself. Thanks
      for this! :celebrate:

I will recommend Tien Hsia. My niece and nephew have went to Berries but there is no improvement. They change to Tien Hisa and have show great improvement. I aslo send my boy to Tien Hsia he is very happy with the classes and he is looking forward to the lesson. Berries use alot of part time teacher and some of them may not qualified to be a teacher.

can you share the level your niece and nephew is in?
personally, i tend to agree that Berries for Primary level may not have the same effectiveness as their Preschool's level (or maybe my expectations is higher )

Yes! I agreed! For Pre-school level it may be better. But for Primary School and above i will recommend Tien Hsia. My niece is in P2 and my nephew is in P3. Tien Hsia they have spelling but Berries dosen’t. My niece only finished Term 1 in Berries. After that my brother send her to Tien Hsia. She has more concentration on her work. There is great improvement. As for my nephew, my sister send him to Tien Hsia since P1. Their teaching system is different also. Every parent’s expectation is high. Even myself.

I heard form my colleague. How true is it i don’t know. As what i know, for Pre-School Level, Tien Hsia teacher is qualified teachers with certificates or diplomas in Early Childhood Education and for Pri/Sec teacher is qualified teachers with degree from teachers’ college or universities. Tien Hsia have teachers for Pre-School and Pri/Sec. As for Berries their Pre-School teacher can teach Pri/Sec level. They should have fixed teachers for each level.

Yes. My P2's berries form teacher was his K1 teacher. but i am ok with it cos she is a very good teacher and my boy likes her very much.

:?: My P2 gal has been with berries since 4years old. They have done a very good job and my gal has been doing very well in her Chinese. Recently, we realised that she's having trouble with creative writing in Chinese. As a non chinese, I'm not able to help her.

Please advice if I should continue her in Berries or move her to another place? What about Han Language, which is better? Or is there a better school? I put up in Pasir Ris....kindly advice!!!

                      THANK YOU!!!!

                        Hi

For Primary level, Tien Hsia is quite reputable. You may want to try it.
