Traffic at RV has been heavier than compared to past few years and with the school going single session next year, the situation isn't going to get better. For rainy days, you may drive inside the school compound to drop your kid off but be prepared for traffic jam.
I believe the portion highlighted in red is true for all schools. -
Pardon my ignorance, but will children on the school bus end up being late for school on rainy days?
-
Likely, unless the school bus is early, since there is only a single lane going into the school. I’ve seen school buses queueing behind cars to drive into the school compound.

Thanks. Not likely to get any better next year then, unless they stagger the start times.
Btw, in case this interests anyone, there are only 16 applicants (incl 3 GR volunteers) for RVPS P2B as at 1500hrs today.
Which means potentially more places for those in 2C. -

The schools you are targetting look promising as at today. Have you registered? -

Doing it tomorrow :-). I must say I'm surprised with the take up rate thus far, especially for RVPS. A few waiting on the sidelines probably

Just browsing around as my boy is already in RVPS for 2yrs and I have many friends registering this year. We went in via P2B back then and \"escape\" the fate of balloting for 1-2km. Hence, I can feel and understand the heat of K2 mummy friends lately

We were torn btwn RV vs RM (there wasn't ALPS in the picture then) and after two yrs, I'm glad to say that we have not regretted on our decision, as my boy is happy in the school. There isn't much homework at P1 / P2 yrs as compared to some schs in the area that overload the kids with mundane writing, projects etc at lower Primary level even to the day prior to tests.
Hence, that frees up the time for play time and sports and quality additional (mummy) revision to work on areas of weakness. RV is still more academic focus with emphasis on Chinese, with students being banded to 3 levels of Chinese (HCL / Core / Bridging) after term 2, P1 and revised Chinese \"grouping\" to 4 levels of Chinese (HCL/ Enrichment / Core / Bridging) for P2 after term 4, P1 results.
Overall, most of the teachers are caring and some even go the extra mile to text / email parents. With an emphasis on Chinese language, most of the students are Singaporean Chinese. An area that RV could improve on cld be it's CCA, which it did for the past yr, with more achievements for it's uniform groups. I like that remedial lessons and CCAs end by 4pm to allow the children to take the later timing Sch bus. My hope as a current parent is that the Sch will work on it's sports. Overall, we are happy that our kid is happy to go to Sch daily and that is all that matters to us
Hope that my input with help some K2 parents
all the best! -

Yes, i heard the jump (or stress) will happen only from P3 onwards. but this is easily one of the most informative opinion posted recently on this thread.
