Hi. Our son is 4 and will be registering in 2016. We are all SC currently living 1-2km away from geylang methodist. Do we need to ballot or be PV? Or if moving close <1km will mean no neef to ballot?

From the history, it seems only PR need to ballot in 2013. All SC within 2km no need to ballot. Did i interpret it correctly?

I guess trying PV is more practical, although moving to <1 Km is likely to give you better chance. Moving house is a big decision. But if you really don't mind moving, then by all means. But still take up PV to increase your chance. I know for a fact that when you can't get your child into the school of your choice can be very disheartening.

in terms of academics (i know kh standard is high) esp between GMPS and HGS, student mix & teacher expectation.
