Does anyone know what type of enrichment classes are offered at NYPS at the primary 1 level? What about ECA/CCA?

Sigh.. I really don't want to overload my son with these enrichment classes at this level... But my wife will probably overwrite me on this

PLENTY. Academic and non-academic. I cannot remember all but here are some for your consideration. Badminton, tennis, golf, table tennis, soccer, swimming, ballet, wushu, gymnastics, intl chess, ceramics, floral art, science, speech & drama, creative writing, Chinese, English & Math enrichment..

CCA usually through invitation. If I am not wrong.

When your child go for P1 orientation day, many enrichment vendors will be there, waiting eagerly to distribute their pamphlets to P1 parents, explain to parents what their enrichment is all about, how your child going to benefit from it, etc.

If your child is interested in any of them, may sign up for your child.
Nanyang have a lot of P1 enrichment programmes, lining up for P1 excited parents.

i don’t mind my son going for international chess and chinese chess… going to teach him to think one step further and also that there are many ways to take to achieve the same results, rather than stubbornly stick to one solution…

Haha, yes, I am one of the 'P1 excited parents'

I'm glad there are plenty of options at the primary 1 level. I thought that most will be offered only at upper primary level when they become compulsory(?).

I'm looking more for sports as my son is very active and we wanna keep our weekends free from enrichment. Currently, he learns swimming and wushu on the weekend, would be nice if we could move these to the weekdays!

We're considering after-school care to take care of the logistics of having enrichment classes.

Not true. Last year, none show up during orientation. I have not met any vendor in the school yet.

Do you all know how they allocate the P1 classes in Nyps? Is it by phase like some other schools?

No worries. I was told school didn't arrange vendors to show up. Hopefully vendors are coming this year.
