      hquek:
      Hi denieleve,

15-16mth...enjoy the honeymoon period. For now, I would say it's good enough to go library and let her soak in the atmosphere, borrow some books back and get her acquainted. I understand that bit about being tired after you come home, but if you perservere and do daily reading (1 simple book each day), she will surely amaze you one fine day.

Regards childcare, international or no brand, what's important is the staff (caring/non?), centre (location, facility). My friend just withdrew her kids from a local chain that's popping up everywhere cos she saw the staff not caring about kids that were in distress. I'm sure famous names will have its pros, but you have to weigh the pros and cons. My kids are in the nearest kindy available, but I know they are in good hands and loved by the teachers there....that's enough for me.

You will have to see what you want to see your child do - arts? music? language? maths? It's practically impossible for a child to do all of that so prioritization comes in. My personal take is that i want my kids to love books and be comfy in languages so that's where our focus is now.

From there, you can then shortlist the centres you are keen on. do some market survey - ksp is a super good resource. I sent DS1 to classes blindly and kinda regret having paid so much for the deposits and so called free bags...having gone through one, I know what I want for DS2...saves a lot of heartache.

If you are minded, can do also some research on the kindys you want for your child. I didn't start until DS1 was turning 3....boy that was stress. Start early then at least you can be sure to get into schools of your choice.

This is only the beginning, road is super long. Whatever it is, enjoy the journey and enjoy her childhood!
      oh thanks alot!

      need help on some questions.
what kind of books should i read to her??
i bought some baby books for her but she keep putting into her mouth, its bad if i bring her to library right??

my english is weak, that why i am advised by my collegues and boss to send her to a international childcare. so she gets to mix around with children from others countries and doesn't really picks up our kind of singlish and hopefully she build up a good fundamental to language, especially english. but i do not know which internaitonal child care is better?

      what is DS1 and DS2??
and also \"deposits and so called free bags\"??.

sorry to trouble.... i am a lousy mama.haha

        hi denieleve,

i'll say we are in a similar situation, my girl turning 17 months soon.
i guess my focus when looking for enrichment program is more for her to have fun and socialise (she seldom get to mix with kids her age).
i'm looking for those weekend type and should be going for some trial classes.
are u looking for those regular weekday 2 hour type of playgroup?
or those weekend kind of classes?
ya.... its so hard to know what exactly is good for them....we are in the same situation.

i am not looking for any other enrichment program as i had currently enrolled her to \"THE LITTLE NEUTRO TREE\". i am working so i can only send her during weekends. and now i am looking for a chilcare or playgroup that accept 18mths so i can send her to study.
anyway i keep wondering, what is the difference between a child care and a playgroup? no difference right?

now i planning to change to GUG. cause my gal is really bored by the repeated lessons.

                    has the course there?
