      PhoBIA:
It's not cheap to have a maid nowadays. Furthermore, it is not guaranteed to be good. You may end up worrying about your child's safety instead.

Put the child at student care...cheaper and lesser worries.
We have no ideas what is going on in the maid's brain. I feared being chopped up or poisoned if I was strict with my maid back then.

I used to put my DS1 in a BASC, but I got a horrible experience with that center.

With no other better centres in my neighbourhood, I employed a maid then. For 3 years my maid was very good. Hwr, she left and we had a new maid, now in her 3rd month and we are still monitoring her. I have tried to look for a BASC but still can’t find a suitable one. In a dilemma as the current maid is not very stable and if she decides to quit and employing another maid gets too expensive, and we still can’t find a BASC, we are stuck.

I guess it reallys depends on luck? have a few friends who choose to go for maid rather then centre, and yet on the other hands, some dont trust maids at all due to bad experiences

How about nanny arrangement? Last time I do hear of arrangement whereby after school, the kid will go to nanny’s house. There nanny will make sure they eat, bath, rest etc. But nowadays I think the additional expectation is supervision of homework. If there is anyone doing such private after school care, I am sure it would be high demand as well!
