i believed that your children are now in P2? can i know how the sch assess the performance of children since there is no exam in P1? do they still have the class position by performance by the end of sem 1 and sem 2? dunno how the grading is done now compare to my time 😛
Ok.. I may not be in a good position to comment.. coz I don really pay attention to my kids' results.. but if I recall correctly, there is no class position. There are no exams but there are bite-sized tests and performance tasks that will go into the 'computation' of their results in the report book. While there are marks for these, more importantly is that there is also a competency matrix (not sure if this is the actual term used) where they will list down for every subject learning areas or skills goes into these subjects and they will indicate your kid's competency in these areas (whether they need some guidance, they are able to perform the tasks independently, etc etc.. something like that lah).

Once again.. other parents.. pls correct me here. Results are really not my main focus.

Cyranocrash, U are spot on. 😂 The competency matrix will list down the areas where the child is strong or weak so that parents can take note. They also include subjects like PE, Arts, Music etc. There is no class position. Neither are there any statistics like the mean, median, percentile etc which I think will be good if included on a cohort basis.

Yeah finally done with my son p1 online registration

Lucky you. I tried to go online to register but my IC's address is different to the address stated on the website. Called the school and was told that the information MOE extracted was done few months back and it's not possible to update it now. So I can only walk in tmr to register :stompfeet: :stompfeet: :stompfeet:

Just curious. Went in MOE’s website to check on the vacancies and saw under Phrase 2B, 41 seats were taken…Palm View’s PV Scheme has yet to implement, this school is neither a Christian nor a Catholic School. So where does these 41 seats come from? Sorry, Im not too good with these phrases. How does Phrase 2B© works?

Phase 1 to 2B, for a child who has a sibling studying in the primary school, parent is a staff member of the primary school of choice, parent volunteer or active community leader.

                      Details in:
                      http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissi ... on/phases/

The 41 spaces taken up is for places taken UP TO phase 2B. Earlier, Palm View has 40 spaces taken up under Phase 1. Which means that 1 space is taken up under phase 2B. You are right to say that Palm View has no PVs for this year's registration and no church/clan affiliation.. so most probably it means that 1 child was registered under the \"Parent who is an active community leader\" category.
