Does MOE update today the applicants who registered online?

I read somewhere on MOE website it says something like updates will be provided on 'each registration day'. But I can't find that message to attach here.... So if today is counted as a registration day, there should be updates this evening.

      Let's see.

Hi, my girl is very happy in Marymount Convent School. We brought her to MCS to register on last day of Phase 2C last year. She saw the school and like it. We were lucky to be able to enrol in MCS even though we are more than 2km. My girl likes all girls school environment. There are 2 very good schools within 1km from my place ( require balloting within 1km for SC) but I chose to give that up and register my child in Phase 2C last year in MCS as I know I will confirm get a place in Phase 2C even though I'm more than 2km away. In fact, it is so many km away.

Other parents prefer to send to Pei Chun, CHIJ TPY, Ai Tong, St Nicholas Girls, SCGS, RGS, Nanyang, MGS and most use Marymount as back up for Phase 2Cs. Marymount location not so accessible. Some drive their children to school or let children take school bus.

I know of friends with child in school and they told me all the good things of MCS. So I made the decision to register my child in Phase 2C as I know many parents are using MCS as back up for Phase 2Cs. In fact, I have to thank other parents last year for not considering MCS first choice in Phase 2C. I was able to get that opportunity to enrol my child and let my child benefit all the good stuff the school has to offer.

In fact, I have received several pm of parents asking me about MCS as they have intentions to put their girls in MCS. I will say if you were smart like me, enrol your child in MCS.

A bright child go any school is also bright, not necessary to go very famous school to become bright or brighter. Just visit the school website to check the column under Parents. There is so much to see in there. Good luck to all parents.
        Agree with you, sembgal!

I personally know a teacher in MCS and she's all praise for the school. It's definitely a place where they take care of children with ALL kinds of learning styles / issues. So it does open my DD's eyes! And she enjoys school every single day.

Whilst affiliation is certainly desirable, like what phtthp also mentioned, it's virtually impossible to get into those schools.

MCS is definitely a top choice when it comes to 2CS, but competition will be super stiff then (unless you're within 2 km and you'll be relatively safe, based on last year). Alternatively, there's also Canossa Convent (which a friend said the DD really loves it there!) at 2CS, but that's last year. Hence, parents with DD will need to carefully utilise your opportunity at phase 2C now.

May I know how do I interpret this figure from the balloting history? App is 543% for 2c no of school vacancies is 330. How do I read this? 543% X 330 = no of applicants for that phase??

😓 Hi! Anyone know if the updates for number of applicants can be found on line or we have to call the school to find out? Thanks!

Appreciate if someone could advise. My relative is for 2c tomorrow and I am checking on whether his odds are high. He is SC ,within 1km to ATS and more than 2km to marymount

                Hi Littleprince,

What it meant is there is 7 spaces left in ATS phase 2c last year and 38 applicants during that phase. Ie 38/7 = 543%

total number of spaces is indeed 330

                Hope this clarifies…

For Aitong, based on the ballot history since 2006, SC<1km balloted for P2C. Your relative stays <1km, so at least he has a chance to ballot.

Read on few forum threads that Marymount is a nurturing school and some people predicted Marymount 2C and 2CS may have higher than usual applications this year, caused by unsuccessful applicants from St Nicks and CHIJ Toa Payoh. Ballot history says no need to ballot for P2C. P2CS may require balloting for SC>2km.

That's all I picked up from this website and various forum. At the end of the day boils down to how much risk your relative is willing to take. One way is monitor the applicant numbers and distance at both schools on Friday afternoon, and then decide where to register on Friday.

To all parents under phase 2c, all the best!

Last year, there was no update of applicants on the MOE website after the 1st day of P2C, which is online registration. Not sure will there be changes this year.

Last year, I called my choice school after application close on the 1st day of application to get the total number of kids registered for the day.

I see. Unlikely there will be updates. Already past 10pm now.
