Just curious. Went in MOE's website to check on the vacancies and saw under Phrase 2B, 41 seats were taken..Palm View's PV Scheme has yet to implement, this school is neither a Christian nor a Catholic School. So where does these 41 seats come from? Sorry, Im not too good with these phrases. How does Phrase 2B(c) works?
The 41 spaces taken up is for places taken UP TO phase 2B. Earlier, Palm View has 40 spaces taken up under Phase 1. Which means that 1 space is taken up under phase 2B. You are right to say that Palm View has no PVs for this year's registration and no church/clan affiliation.. so most probably it means that 1 child was registered under the \"Parent who is an active community leader\" category. -

Thank you for your explanation. I thought Phrase 2B alone took 41 seats... -
Dropped by the school for something earlier this morning and saw many anxious looking parents who came to register their kids.
Wish you parents all the best and may you child get a place in the school. -

Is there anyway to check the numbers who register yesterday via online? Or any place we can go check for daily updates? -
bbyntbc:
No idea. MOE website will only show the numbers after the registrations has closed. I do know of friends from other parts of Singapore who call up the school of choice to ask for indication of the number.. not sure how true though.

The website will update few hours after registration is closed at end each day (that’s what happened 2 years ago).

Hubby just came out from the school. He mentioned that so far there are 101 registrations. 80 within 1km, 16 within 1-2km and 5 out of 2km. So will seats be given to those staying within 1km first or how does it work? -

No worries. I try to answer what I can from a fellow parent's perspective.. and rely on other parents to correct me if my info is wrong. I know how stressful it can be at this stage.. hope I was able to help some parents in their decision.Hi cyranocrash,

Wushu, inline skating, etc are enrichment programmes for the P1 and P2 students. These are not compulsory. These programmes act as an introduction to CCA-like environment that the students will go thru at P3 onwards. Do note that these programmes need not necessarily translate to actual CCA at P3. The school has yet to confirm the list of CCAs that the school will have. P3 batch will only start next year.. so they still have a bit of time.
The e-learning that was mentioned in previous threads is referring to those days where the kids have no class (example on PTM days, school holidays, etc). Kids are required to do some work which are published online. They do it at the comfort of their own home. Can be done on laptop or iPad.. it's compatible on most platforms. Think what you have in mind is actually IT lessons. Yes, the school does introduce ICT from P1 where the kids will learn basic computer skills. They have an IT lab where they use laptops for such lessons. They also have a chance to get work on the iPad for some of their lessons.
The school has many programmes and they are continuously coming up with innovative programmes that take lessons beyond the classroom.
Hope this helps. -
School starts at 8am everyday is their selling point.
