I highly recommend Little Sparks Montessori at Siglap Drive(Frankel Ave).

Principal and teachers are very nice and they feedback by communication book every week.
Although my daughter is not with them any more, I am very happy she could have a very good start of her school life!
You can choose 3 or 5days as well as 2 or 3hours.

Hi Aliceae...I've gone down to Bethesda Katong to recce... like the place alot. The principal is really a dedicated educator. Like someone in previous posts mentioned, Miss Wee believes the curriculum ot be as balance as possible (not loads of homework but also educational play). What I like is also the character building sessions... you should call n go down to take a look. I've registered my son for next year N2 or what they call nursery. But he'll only be going in after the Jun hols thus a place will be reserved for him. πŸ˜ƒ looking at morning session.

oh ya.. fyi there's quite a long wait list... thus good to call to find out how's the situation like.

              Hi Aliceae,

I have chosen Bethesda katong too. Ms Wee is indeed a very nice principal as most have mentioned. My hubby and I toured around the school with her and were impressed by how well she can remember most of the students’ names. We went on the 1st week of a new term and were glad to see that the students were adapting very well and there are 1-2 additional asst teachers helping out in the classrooms for the younger kids.

As for st hildas, we heard lots of screaming from the teachers and my hubby was turned off. St hildas was my 1st choice despite the journey was further away. However after visiting both schools, I decided to choose Bethesda Katong as they have a warm and loving environment. I hope I have made a good choice. My boy will be going to pre school nx yr. πŸ˜ƒ

Hi, my boy is in bethesda pasir ris.. we like it there too. Teachers are nice and caring except for one that i don't really like cos she don't seems to be caring towards the children but she didn't teach my kid level so i dun bother too.. Principal and admin staffs are nice too, they will treat you like friend.

However due to the travelling distance from my place (living in tampines), i have just transferred my son to another sch nearer to my place (within walking distance).

My boy has started the new sch since 1st march and is currently attending both schs till mid march.. To be honest, after starting him out in the new sch, i'm thinking of letting him continue in bethesda pasir ris cos i feel they'll prepare my kid better for P1..

Will be good for you to go tour around the different schools that u r looking at before making a decision cos every school got it's pros and cons.

                All the best!

@headachemum & jerejoy: thanks for sharing the info..already take a look at the school, i agree the principal Mrs Wee is very dedicated and can see all the art works done by the kids hanging in the classroom, my son also looks very interested..but haven't registered yet since it's quite far from my place..but i like the kids are gathered in the hall for singing praising before they go to the class

@hope76: i also live in tampines, so pasir ris would be closer than katong...that's been my consideration also...do you mind telling me \"the teacher\" that you mention, does she teach pre-nursery/nursery? bcoz my son going to pre-nursery this year & he likes to ask everything πŸ™‚ so i want to find him a patient & nurturing teacher.
and btw, does pasir ris also have like character building session? and singing praising? or they learn to pray?

                  thanks a lot mummies πŸ˜„

Hi aliceae, i must say that Bethesda pasir ris pre-nursery and nursery teachers are very good, patient and caring. My son was taught by Mrs Lai and Mrs Sim during his pre nursery. He really loves them and enjoyed himself.

I also dunno what's the teacher's name cos my son only in nursery but i think that teacher is teaching k2. but again, i personally dunno that teacher so it's purely my personally opinion towards her πŸ™‚

They do have session on monday (conducted in eng) and Friday (conducted in Chinese) only. i think they do sing praises with the teacher. The kids will usually pray before eating.

i can understand your feeling about which sch to choose. Do consider the distance too cos it's really very sian to do the sending n fetching. I'm facing it now.. esp i got 3 children and youngest only 8 mths... :0)

my girl will be going to the toddlers class next monday for trial for a few days..

                      any feedbacks???

That's interesting... that's when my girl will be starting too! The N1 class. Guess they'll be friends there.

My boy is offered a place in shbtb n1. The place is not bad. But I wonder whether the teachers are good or not. Do they have communication book? (I forgot to ask them) I have a place in chiltern house too. Which one is better assuming the fees are the same? I want a mixture of play and academic type kind of nursery. Thanks in advance.
