2014 P1 Registration Exercise for 2015 In-Take

ChiefKiasu:
The competition at Phase 2C is likely to be very high this year. If your Phase 2A school is close to you, you might as well stick with it instead of tempting fate. If you want to switch, do it for logistical reasons, and not because you think the other school is better.rivervalley:
Hi all,
When you withdraw from a school, do you need to show any documents like birth cert or parents IC? Tomorrow I will be standing by at the Phase 2A school waiting to withdraw while my husband monitors the Phase 2C school, which one of us should be holding on to the ICs?
To answer your question: You will need both parents' NRICs to withdraw, but you only need 1 parent to be present.
Thanks! My Phase 2A school is too far away but is a top school - Rosyth. I registered only as a backup. It is not feasible to go there as they don't even have school bus to my area.
Yes I will have fierce competition at Phase 2C schools near my home, Fairfield and Henry Park. I am really in a dilemma. -
WRT Ai Tong, I am within 1 km and likely to register tomorrow.
-
Has anyone >2km been asked to withdraw from SJI Junior?
-
Called up SJIJr and very nice lady staff informed me
20/22/12 SC
incl online regn.
I am very sure have to ballot for 1-2km for my son. -
rivervalley:
That's a really tough choice. Both FMS and HPPS will likely face very fierce competition even if you are SC <1km. Odds could be as poor as 1:3. If I'm you, I would just stay put at Rosyth and arrange for transport as best I can. Otherwise, consider getting into Bukit Timah Primary in Phase 2C if distance is really a problem. Trying for FMS and HPPS in Phase 2C will be too scary. Then again, I'm not a betting man. Take my words with a pinch of saltThanks! My Phase 2A school is too far away but is a top school - Rosyth. You got the fact wrong !
In Punggol, Horizon didn’t reduce the vacancies for 2C this year.
Mee Toh School is the one reducing compared to last year.
It is true that Horizon has a much higher take up rate this year entering Phase 2C, because it has a reduced in-take (from 270 down to 240) and is in the 5th year of its operation. Horizon has probably reached its steady-state this year in terms of alumni in-take, and future years will probably be similar to what we see this year.
It is also true that Mee Toh went into balloting in Phase 2B for the first time since 2006.
Is mee toh very popular in punggol? What are its attractions to get overcrowded registration? How about horizon, what are its attractions? -

Maybe its just me but this year registration, even for not so super popular schools seems to be very intense…

Hi all,
I am also in a dilemma.
I registered my child for south view primary under phase 2a. I stay in Bukit batok central. If my child goes to south view, most likely my child will take school bus.
Princess Elizabeth primary is within 1km from my home, and there is a high chance we can get in during phase 2c, as SC within 1km.
So now I am really headache whether we should withdraw from south view and register my child for princess Elizabeth tomorrow.
Any reviews or feedbacks regarding these two schools, guys? Any suggestions or opinions are welcome!
Thanks in advance!
