Keming Primary

Happy with the teachers, admin people, school so far.
Culture is pleasant, polite and helpful. Thank goodness, not those stuck up ones
My kid is in P5 now. Teachers - my kid has encountered really nice ones, fierce ones, super fierce, but balanced ie with a good dose of humour and wit to engage the kids. So far, I have no complaints - suits my tiger mum style. At the end of the day, they are effective and my kid, after looking back, also thinks it did him good. -
Thanks staypositive for your reply. How are the teachers? Is it easy to contact them to discuss on your child’s school works? How is the principle? Heard that just change last year, m I right?
Thanks. -
Depends on the individual. Some teachers willing to provide their hp nos, some just ask you to call the General Office (GO) to reach them or email them directly. Even for those willing to provide hp nos, I would only use SMS as not to disturb them in case they are teaching. So far, those that I emailed to were fairly responsive. If there were things to discuss, I usually check with the teacher in advance, by email, if he or she can meet after dismissal.
The p1 form teachers always come out with their class after dismissal. You can take the opportunity to talk with them when you pick up your kids. However, this year the school changed to single session, so not too sure if they still have the same arrangement.
Principal - yes. Pretty positive like the previous one.
There are a few things which I like about the school.
If your kid is missing from school and if you did not notify the form teacher in advance, be prepared to get a phone call from the GO. There was once our morning flight was delayed unexpectedly and my kid couldn’t get to school in time upon arrival (he was in the afternoon session then). Such calls help to alert the parents in case the kids didn’t turn up where they should. You know, it’s worrying when you see a young kid walking or cycling alone to school, even in broad daylight.
The other incident was - my kid ran out of money for lunch, was hungry & had to wait another hour for me to arrive, so the GO gave him some food ( I can’t remember what they were) while waiting. -
