Hi Parents of PLMGS(Pri), my only girl is now in P1. The last 4 weeks in PL were really a sharp learning curve for her and us, as parents. Books were lost and found, and some went ???, stationery too! Class teachers called up as early as 2nd wk to discuss her inattentiveness in class. I was taken aback initially when was told that the teacher shouted at my girl. But, into the 4th wk, I am now getting pretty use to that. The girls need the basic discipline for the teacher to manage her class. One of my girl’s classmates lives on the same floor with me. She cried last nite and confided that without her nap time, as before in childcare, she is finding it tough to keep alert. (As both parents work, she needs to go to her nanny’s place b4 8am every morning). Also, the teacher reprimanded her for "interrupting" when she raised her hand in class, she said that she just wanted to ask question. I guessed she must be finding it hard to express her intention during class to her teacher. Her little mind just could not understand why she was scolded. Poor kid, so much about adjustments into the primary sch system here. The BIG gap between kindergarten and pri 1 is really getting a toll on all these young girls.

DS misses his girlfriends from Cherie Hearts Childcare nearby. Hear half the girls in his K2 class went to PLMGS.

Believe the shock of P1 system is very drastic, compared to Childcare as Classroom-based learning is very different from Activity-based learning.
Thankfully DS is very happy-go-lucky and hyperactive kid who boh-chap teacher’s scoldings, just knew he needs to pay attention in class and pretend to understand what is being taught.

                Hi mummies,

I am registering my DD for P1 next year. She is into ballet and gymnastic and i would very much want her to continue her interest in pri school.
I would like to check with mummies here. Does P1 has ballet and gym as part of their school curriculum or are they only CCAs that are only offered to p3 and above?

Ballet & gym will be offered to the P1 girls as CCA. The girls will go to school in the morning for their CCA since they have lessons in the afternoon.

Thank you Lavender Tea. Was waiting for an answer for the longest time.

Any idea when will the school turn single session?

I just registered today for parent volunteer for my girl born 2005. The lady told me they are clearing for 2004 parents for now (have to finish by July this year), and will call us for services soon after.
