Sorry to hear about this. How do you know from the result of Health Check? Did they hand you a paper to see the clinic? DS got back the health booklet but did not notice any extra paper or any instruction given by his teachers...

Am no expert here, just know that astigmatism is often responsible for mypoia/short-sightness. My optician also says I have shan-kuang in addition to short-sightness when time to change my specs. Asti or myopia, the best is not to strain the eyes.....

Yeah, the nurse told me it is inborn. something to do with the shape of their eyeball. Once you get it, means it will not improve anymore....

I actually had short sightedness for more than 10 yrs before i develop asti.

no slip means good news. Cos after the health check, we were given a slip with appointment at the refraction clinic. DS saw a couple of classmates there too.

Oops! That's what the optician (went there past 2 years already, expensive and established somemore :frustrated: ) told me..... Will find out from specialists and experts. If what your nurse says is true, I NEVER EVER go to my optician again. :x

Will counter DS hand book again. Tks
