I saw my grade 5 gal doing the same stuff for her grade 5 exam. Is this the new or old syllabus? You can see that the moves are not easy..my girl said she has to suck in her stomach and hold her breathe at certain point so that she can balance better.

This is old syllabus. New one is very much like performance based.

Next year is the first batch for new syllabus for grade 4 and 5. Dd commented thenew syllabus is more fun but more steps to remember and the counting is a little odd.

Probably less confusing for young kids who do the new syllabus from scratch, than current batches who are affected from the switch of old to new syllabus.

For RAD \"primary\" Grade, is it difficult to get Distinction (75 marks and above ) ?

            RAD exam
            below 40 marks : Fail

            40 to 54 : Pass

            55 to 74 : Merit

            75 to 100 : Distinction

Don't think so. I heard from my girl that someone from the primary class got 98. :nailbite: :yikes:

For primary not really. Grade 1 onwards not easy. Those with long legs and good expressions usually score better. Dd teacher always remind them to smile to show that they enjoy dancing. 😄

Yes, the higher the grades, the tougher the steps, the harder to get distinction. But I know of my good friend DD, still get 95 at Grade 6 - certainly not an easy feat!
