Palm View Primary

luckily we did not miss the chance in 2C...else would have not been able to get into 2Cs...the credit goes to this site where most of the parents initiated to answer our queries and go through stressful P1 Registration...
I also agree with cyranocrash that me as a parent will not mind if my child brings an average in PSLE...dont want to put stress on them...just want them to learn from the surroundings...to participate in activities in which they have interest...no matter what they do...they all have to face stressful lives when they grow up...surrounded by responsibilities...so why not as a parent we let them grow in their interests now...anyways thats just my personal views
Thanks Again -

I see. Actually I have registered palm view under 2c. I took few months to consider btw Hougang Pri (<1km) and Palm View (1-2km).L0v3mm:
I was just thinking if I were choose palm view as 2Cs, I think will be zero chance for me as I m staying 1-2km. Looking at the numbers of over subscribed under Nan Chiau and they all are staying within 1km to Palm View...
The spillover from Nan Chiau might apply for Springdale too. Where do u stay?
Proudmommy, yup agreed, credits goes to this excellent site, n also strongly agreed with your mindset towards our children's childhood education. :lovesite: -
Hi all,
I’ve been following this thread for the last two months and find the active, engaged parent community here amazing.
One of the things I enjoy reading here is the optimistic and holistic perception of children’s education. As somewhat of a rebel myself, I am adamant that Singapore’s education system can be so much more than it is today. I won’t go into these details (otherwise my post will become something else!) but suffice to say, I am a deep believer in the holistic education of life. Pursuit of learning is absolutely beyond textbooks, rigid formulas or big exams - and I am touched by how the community here seem to echo my beliefs.
This, coupled with the principal and school’s seeming approach to childhood learning and development, was what led me to decide on PVPS. So I officially joined the forum this morning - same day my Hock (my online moniker for my son) is formally accepted into the school! Yay!
Thank you to the "senior" parents who have been very forthcoming with all their advise. Am looking forward to experiencing the PV primary school journey alongside Hock. Now THAT would be a parent volunteer initiative I feel is so much more WORTHY and MEANINGFUL to pursue!
Aside to the school itself, my perception is that the upcoming 2015 primary one batch will be the biggest population PVPS will be hosting - would this be correct? I hope the teaching staff are prepared for the sudden population increase! Most importantly, I hope the new challenges that will inevitably come with such a change neither distract nor discourage them from staying on their course!
And lastly, we look forward to getting to know the new family!

Wow, now I am abit worried that my girl would not be able to get into Palm View. Parents in law staying in Blk 104…and now she has to register under phase 2C supplementary…not sure what are the chances now…though I know there is still vacancy…

I too have enrolled my dd into PVLPS despite few schools being 1-2km. I felt PLV parents are not so ksp, and they are concerned of the child developments as well as results.
I felt this school so much warmer and cosy.http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/phpbb3/images/smilies/icon_lovesite.gif -

Welcome Hock !!!
New teaching staffs are selected and posted into the schools each year (more in second half) to cope with the incoming students. Not all the teachers will move up with the P1 batch to P2. Other than the pioneer batch, the existing P1 should have 8 classes. -

Looking at the numbers, u have to keep your finger cross :xedfingers: . Also it depends on your distance. Good luck! -
Looking at the map, nearest school would be palm view and next is north spring.
