Just wonder how many tuitions subjects per student have on average esp near to PSLE? I remembered my DD said in her previous PSLE that some students do have up to 6 in a week.

And some have none. Do you count help from parents on an informal basis?

      6 tutors excl parenting assistance.

6 tutors is extremely kiasu. How much can a child absorb? This will lead to burnout before PSLE.

Dont feel its necessary so long as the child is doing consistently well.

6 tutors for 4 subjects?! Plus school-assigned homework and supplementary classes on top of tuition hours and tuition-assigned homework? No wonder kids are feeling the stress.

zbear, just sharing here - DD1 has a very closed BFF, same CCA with her. This sweet little girl has 6 tuitions - EL, EL Creative Writing, MT, MT Creative Writing, Maths and Science. Not forgetting she is learning violin and choir outside school hours! :faint: :faint:

DD1 shared the parents take turn to fetch her after school and rush home to change before heading for tuitions. I met this sweet little girl few times and feel like giving her a big hug and says, \"Please rest if you need to!\"

I asked DD1 why she needs to attend so many tutions? DD1 replied,\" Ohh, her mummy wants her to!\"

Pls don't get too surprise by this no. of tuitions. Probably there are quite a no of them doing this but did not say out only. All kiasu syndrome for PSLE!

The first time I heard of this phenomenon was during DD1's PSLE 2 years ago. I could not believe it too. That child had EL, CL, HCL, Math (group), Math (individual) and Science.

I've since known of a few more kids with 5 to 6 tuition sessions per week. I don't know how these kids cope...

I just feel so sorry for the kids. How do they find the time to rest?

I watch my kids rest time like a hawk. Always chasing them to sleep earlier.
