First time parent here so pardon the noob questions. My dragon boy (born in 2012) is turning two and i will be moving to Ghim Moh in 2017 and it will be within 1km to Fairfield Methodist . I just called the school and they said to call back when he is in K2 to register for PV. Does that sound a bit late? Registration opens 1 June yearly, so does it mean i only have 6 months complete 40 hours? is it normally this late for most schools? Dunno if i should be KS and call back next week to double check. Appreciate any advice thanks!

You may want to take a look at Fairfield school website and download the PV form: it says: Application will close on 31 MAY every year. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by post In June.

Different school has different closing date. Best to do some homework before calling the school and ask specific questions.

My boy is born in 2010, I know Rulang is the hottest school, sadly, we live within 1-2 KM from Rulang, so I want to apply PV of Rulang to get a chance for my boy.
but don’t know how to apply, I write to email to enquiry but no reply.
Are there any parents willing to share this experience with me? do I need to go to Rulang School to get the application form? and when is the better time?

Im afraid that by that time u dun hv a chance to ballot under P2B within 2km for Rulang. It might b a risk. Y dun u try Shuqun?

Thanks! we live from Shunqun also within 1-2KM.
Within 1KM, there are 5 schools
Jurong West Primary School
West Grove Primary School
Westwood Primary School
Corporation Primary School
Boonlay Garden Primary School

Don’t know which one is better? West Grove?

I still plan to try to apply PV of Rulang, no matter at last whether my boy gets a chance to ballot.

Only if:
1) It is so competitive that only people staying <1km can have a chance to even ballot
2) I die die also must get into that school.
3) I got money

That said, I've never thought of any school as worthy of \"die die\" must get in. And since the 3rd condition is tricky business, I would rather do PV somewhere else where my chances are better.

If I am a PV and this school every year die die ballot within 1 km, in both p2B and p2C, but I am SC > 2 km, but no $ to shift house , then I -
Won't shift house. No $ to shift house, how to shift ?
Too much hassle

Instead, I will enrol into another Reasonably ok school in p2B / 2C, fill up waitlist in this hot school, wait patiently for my chance.
It may not come in P1 or P2, doesn't matter.
Can wait until P3.

Since I am PV of this hot school, and prepare my child for good results plus good CCA record, and P know me since I am PV in the school, then I will just wait for P, to ask me come over.

As long as your child got something to show, plus P know you, one day, your Transfer opportunity will come. You need to have faith in the Principal, and your child

Thanks u both for your answer … I am also not so keen to move as the location is bad in the hot school area . No $$ too … Guess have to wait for waitlist then … Hope will have this day that I get in coming true … Haha

Totally agree.
If I'm going to spend 40hrs of my life doing PV, I would rather make sure that it's well spent and where my chances are better.

The prob is I am already in the midst of doing the pv for this school . So no way to stop or change to another school .
