      Not difficult. My sister done it before.


      **Note : Your ex-maid must work for you at least 2 years previously.

      1) Call philipine embassy, they will guide you.

      I remember briefly, my sis send contract to her maid, she sign and courier back to her.

      Than my sister bring it to embassy for endorsement. Together with prove that her ex-maid worked with her for 2 years.


      2) Apply workpermit at MOM website.

      After that she courier both endorsement contract and IPA from MOM to her to apply working pass in Phillipine.

      When the maid fly over, send her for medical checkup and issue her workpermit online.

        Just found out that this ex-maid was under my other family name at that time. Is this still possible then?

          If under other names previously, I don't think so. Unless employed under his/her name again. But u may call the embassy to clarify.

            I tried before bring my ex-maid back to Singapore. Min 2 years working with you and a copy of her work permit last time.

            One criteria I think would be the Employer must be the same.

            When you mentioned \"other family name\", is it under a different employer? Or you changed your family name?

            If it is under a different employer, maybe you would like to employ her back under the same employer name and do a transfer in Singapore when she is here. If it is changing of family name, guess you need to explain to phillippines embassy.

            If remember correctly :-

            1) Bring the necessary documents to the embassy to authenticate the new contract. You might want to make a trip down to the phillippines embassy to check what are the documents needed. (Air tickets to Singapore/New contract/think work permit (new and old also... )

            2) Once the contract authenticate, you need to send the contract and all supporting documents to your ex-maid in phillippines. Taking the contract, she needs to apply for OEC in phillippines. With the OEC and air ticket, then she can board the plane to Singapore to work for you.

            It is definately a lot cheaper to arrange on your own. I spent around SGD500-600 including air ticket/insurance/work permit etc as compared to SGD1k-2k+++ through agency.

                Well not sure of the cost for transfer. Those essentials cost might be work permit cost and insurance cost, although the other employer might be able to claim back partial insurance cost when he/she cancels the work permit.

                You might want to call MOM to check the proper procedures. However, for the other employer, he/she has to sign a letter of undertaking that he/she will not transfer the maid within 2 years during the maid's employment with him/her when arranging for documents @ phillippines embassy. Not sure how comfortable is he/she to do the transfer for you?

                It is really a lot of hassles when doing direct hire for filipino.

                    I personally feel if the maid is your ex-maid, you will know her well enough when you want to re-hire her back, hence % of transferring / doesn't work out is very low.

                      if its not the same employer, then its an hassle.

                      I ever encounter before. Did direct hiring myself under different
                      employer name, bought tickets, apply work permit, buy insurance.
                      end up on the day of flight, the maid called me to tell me she is
                      barred from taking the flight (last yr phillippines implement maid embargo to SG). End up all my $$ wasted.. In the end went through agency to apply her out. paid $1k plus agency fees, end up she still cannot come out... waited till 3 mths still cannot come out, in the end took a transfer maid in SG, have to top up agency fees plus her loan cost me almost $3k. not including the loss of
                      flight ticket..
