We think any one of the crochet or crochet rest can be striked off. Is it?

Normally we don't put two crotchet rests next to each other, two beat rests are usually written as a minim rest. So cancelling the last crotchet rest is the ideal answer.

Thanks phankao, technically it looks correct regardless of which crochet or crochet rest is cancelled. But I feel that it looks odd if we cancel the crochet. Why not minim rest instead of two crochet rests?

When I asked him," are you sure? Cancel the crochet?", his reply was,"any one (of the crochet or crochet rest) is ok."

Not sure how to fault him… Now I am more assured.

u mean in the picture? In the picture doesnt have Minim rest.

But to represent two count/beat, shd use minim rest instead of two crochet rests mah. Sounds right?

Oh so there are past year papers? Where to get them? Teacher has signed DS up for exams this Oct but I have not seen DS doing any past year papers. Still working on his regular theory book.

If your DS has not completed his regular theory book, he should finish the book first before starting on the papers.
