      Zossamuel:
Hi, my boy is a slow learner, currently in little skoolhouse k2.after diagnose,he might need to retain another year.according to the therapist,it is best to change school.they are suggesting PCF to me.is PCF good and do they provide to slow learners?what is the ratio in each class?any good pcf in yishun or amk. Because hopefully in another year,we can filked up as much gap as possible,we cannot afford to lose anymore time. Thanks

Hi, I advise you to choose those preschools which were the first batch to be certified with SPARKS in 2011. This year, 2014, the SPARKS renewal has to be done and those centres that were certified in 2011 have to go for re-certification again to ensure the standard is there. Otherwise the centres can lose their SPARKS status.

My child was hit by his chinese teacher in PCF block 1 at serangoon. My child complain she beats other children too and always scold or punish children in class.

I dare not approach the teacher but alerted MOE about this. The whole matter was closed with the school defending the teacher. Without surveillance cameras, they said my child could be lying!

So if you want to complain about a school or teacher - informing the MOE or principal is useless.

I support another parent’s feedback about this Chinese teacher called Liao Laoshi hits children. The poor children must be too scared to tell the parents.

So pls educate ur children to speak up if they are labelled or hit.

            Hi zossamuel,

I suggest blk309 pcf at sembawang. Blk 309 pcf is reggio-emilia based leaning. Its not the traditional way of learning and the whole approach is to build up self esteem of the kids instead of gearing them to be academically good.

My girl is academically weak kid. She likes to learn (i believe all kids do like), but she doesnt like writing, writing n writing. She is a learner but she has very minimal interest in words. I put her in 309 and she has improved in terms of feeling good about going to school, more confident coz she speaks lounder now.

Next year she is going to p1, i think she may not be able to cope with p1, but at least now she is more confident and let her learn that she may not be good in academic, but she can be better in something else. Still, dont give up in learning.

Please visit the center… You will love it because i really love the ctr as its bright and clean. Lots of painting and students art works!!!
