      Hi

With regards to the PTM, we were allocated a time slot to meet the FT. Do we need to make an appointment to meet with the other subject teachers at the time stated in the form?

May not work out because they will put you at the end of the queue if the subject teachers are also FTs of other classes. You will not be given priority. I only got to meet FT and Chinese teacher last year. Math teacher had a long queue of her own students from her form class. We decided to give it a miss. Some parents may be offended if you cut queue.

            Hi E3,

KS here has drawn up a time-table for the 1 week…focus on areas of weaknesses but PLAY time at night (no rest means punishing myself too)

            Hi ruaqt,
If you have been allocated a time slot to meet the FT, follow that timing. If no time slot is given for the other teachers, I’m afraid you will have to wait for them in the classrooms/hall. When they are done with other parents, then you can meet her.

I had been a faithful follower of the timings for PTM for the past 3 years. My elder boy has a different teacher for each subject (P4, P5 and P6). Imagine going to school on time but q’d n finally met all the teachers (for both kids) till almost 6pm!

This year only need to meet 2 teachers. But plan to go as early as possible to avoid the q. Btw many parents talk non-stop and do not adhere to the 10-15 mins cap. The teachers also just let the parents go on and on.

WoW  That's almost like camping in the school the whole day isn't it? except no sleepover only. And I thought I would have the rest of the afternoon free to bring her go jalan jalan with husband. Then the children how? they stay at home and do you guys bring them along too?

You are very patient. Cannot imagine when my no 2 or no 3 starts school in PH. May also hv the same problem.

ruaqt2, I brought my dd along last year. They are required to put on their school-u. Her appt this year is at 8am. We may go earlier to meet her Chi teacher first.

                    ruaqt,

Some parents ask so many questions, like expecting teachers to do miracles. Will try to reach the school earlier than time slot and hope to meet all teachers.

                    jennifer,
We have to meet 3 teachers - CL, Eng, Math/Science.
This PTM will most prob be knowing what the teachers think and finding out how son behaves in school.

I think some parents do not understand the purpose of PTM. Ever saw parents just continued to dwell on past misbehaviour rather than ask how to help the child to move on. Seen a few parents scolding their children too.

Most of the time, the teachers teach more than 1 level. Last year we had to see a teacher who was teaching 3 classes. Imagine the wait.

So do prepare some simple board games, bring along a story book, etc for the children. And snacks & drinks too.

Scolding the kids in public is a foolish thing to do. Children should be educated at home, not outside for all to see.
