My Son got a call from ACSI selecting him for Express stream thro DSA 2014.

I would like to know about the following points

        * Transport facilities from Sengkang to ACSI ( anyone travelling from Skng ? )
        * Any existing students travelling from Sengkang to ACSI willing to share and travel together to ease the child’s travel time. ( eg shared VAN / CABS oneway )

        Thanks in advance.

Hubby & I are so so impressed by this post (see below, copied from ACSI Confessions) written by an ACS rugby player who was part of the team that played at the National Stadium last week.

While some adult netizens are bickering small-mindedly over 5 MRT trains, see what goes on in the mind of a 13, 14 year old. He shows bigness of heart. WOW!

\"So the Goh Keng Swee Shield is back home. Game over! Mission accomplished! Coaches happy parents proud praise aplenty! We can now breathe.

This is our year; this is our call: bring home the Shield whatever the cost.
Don the Bumblebee, shave to bald, not an individual but the Botak Team. So we Samson botaks be - for ACS's cause. Scratches and scuffles, sprains and pains, one by one - we took them all. From Hong Kong to CCAB and to the Stadium we went, chasing down our foes with big margin wins.

And now a proud moment came, a sweet taste of glory. The golden medals on our necks, the cheers loud and clear. I saw painted faces, flying flags, flashing cameras, reporters too! I heard friends calling out names. As I stood there with my band of botaks, singing that grand illustrious song, my heart surged with pride as I made sense of it all. I forgot the mud rain and sun. I forgot the tough tedious drills. O sweet victory it was.

Then.. as I looked up the red white stands, I saw that golden kallang wave: principal, teachers, family and friends. I saw my friends clapping, smiling with pride. I saw my family, their eyes fixed on me.

A moment of epiphany it suddenly dawned, as I fought back my the tears in my eyes.

For suddenly I felt so humbled to know, we botaks weren't the only ones who came for the Shield: THE WHOLE SCHOOL had come with us to take it home..!

So THANK YOU every one! - for going with us and coming for us, all five chartered loadful of trains.

              TBIYTB!

P.S. And please don't try to guess which botak wrote this. Anonymous botak let me be : )

Hi, attended the subject selection talk with ds yesterday. Would like to ask for advice from more experienced parents here. My son is in IP.

How are classes in Year 3 arranged? According to same subject combo or exam results in Year 2? (ie some classes are better academically than others).

Are the core and adv Math similar to E Math and A Math?

According to subject combination, because that's how the timetabling software works best. However, minority subject combinations may end up folded into classes with vacancies.

Core and Advanced Math are arranged in a slightly different order and grouping of topics relative to E and A Math. Core Math was designed to be 'mathematics everybody ought to be able to handle' and Advanced Math was designed to be 'mathematics for those who need more than that'. But it's still a fair approximation to our familiar Elementary and Additional Math.

Will the school disallow a student who is weak in Maths to select both Core and Advanced Maths?
