        Sky,

I saw it during book exibition at Suntec couple of weeks ago. I sat down and took a look of the books. Well, it is much more better than its competitor.

I ever spent on expensive programs which i now find it unneccessary. That time i was still searching what education is about.

Education is very simple, need not spending your fortune on expensive programs.

Reading aloud regularly is very important as it helps to develop a child in various aspects eg: speech, language, imagination, love for reading, love for books and lots more. It expands a child's knowledge.....

Reading isn't restricted to books only but reading labels, signbords, newspaper, subtitle on TV, everywhere.....

        That is how reading starts.

I have few hundred books at home; some bought at 2nd hand shops, some was given, some was ordered on line, some were bought during book fair.

Library is so convenient in Singapore and has lots of books. We can't even finish it in our life. Good thing is we can own it for 6 weeks and have it again. So many choices available. Would you consider about it?

It is always good to build up small library at home but i dont find it necessary spending on expensive programs.

Just to add, if you wish to buy encyclopedia, please ensure there is always having real pictures of animals neither cartoons or painting.

        Hope it helps to decide.

          Hi Sky

I have almost the whole set of books from Education Technologies. The one that I did not buy is the Maths set, which did not really impress me.

I must say the General Knowledge set that comes with the Walter is very good and fun. My kids enjoy them. The other one where it teaches things like ABC, time etc (can’t remember the series title) is good too.

I don’t think it is necessary to buy the Good Values set. I bought it but find it ok only. The read along cd also so so only, not very interestingly read, though it is clear. You can always find such books at the library.

The last set which I have is the general knowledge for older kids. I find that the content is more in depth and chim, more suit higher primary and above.

Didn’t realise you have already bought it.

I don’t think we can return. Since you have it, why don’t you just make full use of it? Read one to your child/children everyday.

If you need help, you can always call your sales person. We pay so much for their service too!

My sales agent was very nice initially when I was thinking of buying, after I’ve purchase, her service slackened. When I needed to replace the walter, she kept delaying and not replying. Luckily, I got to know another agent who is so much more helpful. I did not buy from her, but yet she helped me with contacting the technical side and arrange for new replacement.

Let me know if your agent is not up to mark.

Lucky there was a 7 days cool off period. thus i returned most except EnglishTimes and Maths as i cant find people selling 2nd hand. Really find it not worth the price as $3k+ for these simple books… cant get discount as only got 2 series.

i found the rest of the series from sellers selling 2nd hand. but now i quite regret as i like the Walter, what i got was without walter. But was really cheap $200 for whole series without walter + whole series of values from a seller. i think without walter was really difficult to get his attention as compared to with walter he was playing with it during the 7 days period.
the library of skills (ie those books eg Mr Boggle) i got at $15/book from another seller.

but heard from a seller who sold me the library of skills that the walter qets damaged very easily as she used to be an distributor for this series of books.

So far my walter only needed replacement once. You can always ask for replacement if it spoils.

Anyway, I demanded for 3 walters when I bought from my agent

How does this Total development compare with Grolier? Which one is better?
