Hi, need advise from current parents and students.

My DD from Year 2 is going to choose 1 Humanities.
Any feedback about Literature or Economics?
      Any regrets choosing them ?
      Any feedback is appreciated.

      Thanks

DS1 chose Econs, based on my advice, as I think it is a very useful subject, not only in his career next time, but also in our daily lives.

So far, no regrets as DS1 is not good in writing, so Literature is definitely not for him. But if your dd is good and has interest in History, Geography or Literature, no harm for her doing it. šŸ˜‰

Not really, it's not a Commerce subject, more to theories & concepts and clear explanation of these concepts and theories based on different scenarios is required to do well in the subject, though sometimes you do need graphs and numbers as well in your explanation. šŸ˜‰

I guess it really depends on your DD's interests. I am sharing my DD's experience, though I doubt it will help you.

DD's was torn between choosing Lit and Econs. Her Eng teacher was encouraging her to take Lit and she was keen too.

Econs is different from Maths and Science, it still has a analytically basis so I would have liked her to take Lit/History to explore a different facet of the world and her brain. But econs is something she needs to know - especially as she has no \"money sense\". On the other hand she has a love for reading books and discussing characters, plots, and immersing herself in those eras.

Ideally, it should have been 2 years of Lit and 2 years of Econs. But there is no such option. If you have to take Econs in Yr5, you have to take it in Yr3 too. For Lit they were not doing Shakespeare, so Econs won. She is enjoying Econs now and plans to do her major in it next year. But I know she regrets not having a chance to explore Lit too.
