      Hi!

My ds starting p1 in nan hua next year!
Excited to be in this group.
We're going for orientation on 15th nov.
Should we wait till then to buy all our books n uniform?
Or should we go to the school to buy beforehand so no need queue.
Does the bookshop sell uniform and would they have p1 book list?
Or only can collect on orientation day itself?
      Many thanks!

        Hi hi,

My kid will be starting P1 next year. Can anyone share some information about the student care cos this is totally new to me.
        - Are students of all ages group together?
        - I read somewhere that there is nap time for P1 students. How long is the nap time?
        - Is there a fixed schedule of what the students will be doing or does it depend on the individual and the teachers just supervise?

        Many thanks!

P1 Booklist for 2015 is not out yet. You can buy the books and uniform on Orientation day itself, but prepared for long queue. If you can spare time, can visit the school after orientation to buy them.

You can reference 2014 P1 list to gauge the total cost.

              Just sharing,

              1) the children are grouped according to level, supervised by 1-2 mentors.
              2) Nap time is most about an hour but the student care will not recommend nap time from 2nd semester onwards cos children will have more work to do. If your child still need nap, you can discuss with them.
              3) NASCANS do not a routine for the children. It includes lunch, homework, nap time, tea break, assessment books, playtime.

My child is in NASCANS and I do suggest that you try to send in your application earlier as the vacancy is limited 🙂

              Hope above helps 🙂

Any idea when the P6 year end camp will be ? Is it in the Dec holidays ? Roughly early, mid or end Dec ? TIA

                Hi!
The P6 year end camp was after PSLE, before december holidays last year. There was a campfire in school and trekking in a nature reservoir, and water sports such as dragon boating…

I noticed from the school website that nan hua table tennis school team practices 3 times a week from 2.45pm to 5.45pm. Will there be enough time to do homework and revision especially for the P3 and above. Any parents with children in the school team care to share how they cope? Thank you.

To be frank, 3 times a week is the minimum. Even when the child is not practising in school, they are having practice outside school e.g. 3 times at STTA. Most children in competitive sports practice more than 3 times a week. This is a sacrifice that one has to be made if one wants to be in competitive sports.

I have also observed that sportsmen are more disciplined so they will find to do homework and study more efficiently.
