I was told by an English teacher tt even simple and logical story is good enough to score in compo if it is embellished with good n precise vocabulary. Thats what examiners r looking for.

      Creativity is also subjective.

Mayb the marker is looking for creativity
        No worries la.
There isn't a separate marks for creativity.
So long the story is logical and not out of point, with a proper story flow and ending can get contents marks.
Still need to have correct grammar and very good vocabulary to stand out. With that, even a simple storyline stands out.

A frd's gal wrote a snatch thief was caught at the bkstore n people cheered. Make sense??

Maybe they would cheer at the policemen n jeered at the thief. Possible.

Wow, I can see that the kids are getting very creative and their stories are very interesting too šŸ™‚

My girl's story is rather common. Is about a fight outside the building. It all started with a flashback. The father brought her and brother to a book sales. They somehow got seperated. While she was searching for the brother, she heard a loud cheering. She saw her brother with his group of friends, fighting... well, the brother was badly injured and died in the end. End of her story is the house becomes very quiet ever since her brother was gone as she recalls the incident, she started to cry... She said she uses phrases to describe and she did explain how the brother met the friends and ended in the fight and how they got seperated from the father..

Hmmm..cannot comment much, just cross my finger and hope everything goes well.
