I’ve seen a new violin/cello shop on level 2 at Esplanade. Some of the violins there are meant for kids to try out for fun. Think it would be a nice idea to expose our kids to something interesting and new!

I tried Beauty and Beast musical, tho i did not bring my gal (which I regretted), it is ideal and kids friendly. The play is pretty good not forgetting female lead has a very GOOD voice.

I would like to. Waiting to see if DH can spare the time.

Went for last year's Merchant of Venice. It was ok. Futuristic interpretation of the play. Enjoyed the picnic and company more. Still preferred the 1920s version of it when I watched it in London many moons ago.

Any heads up about this play?

I still cannot make up my mind...

Can I bring my own picnic basket or must I buy from their stalls? Was it very warm and stuffy? I recall WOMAD in the 90s was quite warm on the slopes of FC Green.

The 1920s version of MOV sounds very interesting! Was it very slow moving?

I think The Tempest is going to be the perfect \"outdoor theatre eye candy\" as the brochure aptly puts it, cos there's magic (or sorcery?), storm, thunder & lightning, shipwreck and romance...

I didn't quite like the play at first, but changed my mind when I watched the art film, Prospero's Books by Peter Greenaway (a British film maker). The late Sir John Gielgud acted as Prospero...I wonder who's going to be Prospero, Miranda, Alonso and Caliban in this stage production. Nothing's been written about this as yet, which is why I still haven't bought my tickets!!

this thread seems rather slow these days,

anyone has any upcoming plays to recommend for families?
