2014 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

Hi Champion, that was really fast. I've a feeling your dd did it happily and maybe singing away...
MMM :hi5:MMM:
I've this dilemma as I am trying to determine if there are anything that I should keep for my P3....
I was shocked when I reached home yesterday to find DD1's table so neat clean except for stationery on it. Asked her where are all your assessment books, past year papers etc? She answered quickly,\"All pack and shelf in the storeroom, mummy! You may wish to see what you want to keep for mei mei but please don't let me see them again!\" :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
In the end, I decide to keep only the Science notes; giving away the untouched assessment books to a friend whose girl is P5 this year; and recycled her other notes. I do feel the pain especially when I went through those compo pieces, good phrases compiled neatly....errrhhhh....errrhhhh... :scratchhead: dilemma!
I am trying to talk ds into clearing his room. He was like... I am very busy today after my last paper. I've alot of things to do but not clearing my room..... I've to \"bribe\" him that the proceeds from karang guni will go into his post PSLE outing fund.
Was also having this disc with dh and he feels that I should keep everything.... He feels that the P3 can use it. I was like... I don't really like to dig stuff, check and then match to make sure it is in line with new syllabus. it's time consuming and cumbersome. But key notes like good phrases, phrasal verbs etc... I think those are good to keep as they will still use them.
We've tonnes of partially done P4 and p5 assessment books at home now... and I wonder if my p3 will ever get to it. Frankly... I stopped buying assessment or limit to 1-2 per subjects as we know we will never have enough time for those. -

Based on my experience with dd1, she never touch those assessment books anyway and she told me to stop ไนฑไนฐ.

According to her, a lot of assessment books questions are badly set. She told me to discard, no need to keep for dd2
Even those model compo, she said way too simple
Then she told dd2 to thank her for saving her from the agony
Hmm... but so wasteful to discard brand new or close to brand new books. I plan to pass to my friend -
No news for today paper?

We wish to inform that grading is not based on fixed cut-off marks. It takes into consideration various factors including paper difficulty and the quality of candidatesโ work. Hence we are unable to provide further information on this.
Thank you for the info.
That's mean if the papers are easy, the cut-off marks will be raised to 97 (just like last year for Maths paper). If such a case, I prefer to say all papers are tough so that the cut-off marks will be lower down. My lame excuse
Let's not speculate and leave it to SEAB to do their job while we enjoy our well deserved breaks
Last year, dd1 sat for PSLE. While comparing the answers in ksp,she thinks she got some postage questions wrong. Can't remember how many marks was that. Also unsure if she has any other mistakes. She scored A* for maths. In fact, ds was relating to us that the level manager told them (this year P6ers) that there was alot of students who scored A* for maths last year.
Science on the other hand, was a surprise for us. The score was worst than usual P5 and p6 performance (and she is the consistent type) and I think dd1 is not alone in this instance.
Also, alot were very optimistic (including those who used to struggle in school exams) after sitting for the PSLE papers and feel that with the paper std, they can make it to their dream schools but when the results came out, it was a good 10-20 points lower than their estimated feel after sitting for the paper.
So yes... there is nothing we can do at this point but to enjoy now and wait till 3rd week of November.[/quote]
After reading , a little trouble on deciding the DSA or wait for sec 1 posting . :? Will switch to DSA 2014 forum .
Thank you everyone for the sharing . 2014 p6 are the best ! -

For us, catching up on enrichment lessons, school homework and those top school papers is enough to keep them busy. Do have some assessment books (topics focus type) in case we need more practices in those area.
Yes... it's the wasteful part that is.. :scratchhead: -
Hi parents,
Was wondering , did your DS / DD share how find the Chinese paper?
