I subscribe more to the Bertha Henson article. A call for people to \"stand up to anarchy\" is as extreme as the acts of the so-called anarchists themselves. In the larger context, that event itself, while showing the protesters to be rude and mindless, does not deserve more response than the mere shaking of our heads.Yup...another good read by Devadas Krishnadas

Once upon a time, a boy was walking along a path when he spotted a shovel that a farmer had left behind. He picked up the shovel and dug a big muddy hole. Then he jumped into the hole. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
He discovered that he could not get out of the hole he had just dug. In a desperate attempt to get out, he dug deeper. He soon realized to his dismay that digging deeper did not help at all. Finally, he cried for help. A passerby was alerted to his predicament and came running.
The passerby asked the boy, “How did you fall into the hole?”
“Well, you see, it’s the farmer’s fault. He left this shovel here…” -

Want to protest also must use brains lah. They simply dug a hole for themselves to fall into and made themselves not only irrelevant, but notorious.

Devadas view is more extreme I agree. Like Mr Brown's post the most:

Point is, Roy et al u were given your designated turf to rant. No one is stopping u from ranting and furthering ur cause. But if u insist on crossing ur boundaries, and encroach into not just anyone's turf, but the turf of a bunch of performers w special needs, u aren't gonna just get my head shaking. -
Agree with this Zaobao forum writer, esp paras 4-5.

Lol. To be more complete, the passerby jumped into the hole with the boy and started digging some more. When the boy protested and asked why she had to come dig in his hole instead of her own designated hole, she said: \"Why cannot? Some how I feel that it is trap. Hhh and roy had just fall into it.

Don't think so. I have been following this news also. Apparently, before the event HHH actually posted in her Facebook that she planned to purposely protest in front of Teo Ser Luck knowing full well that he was a guest of honour for YMCA event.https://sg.news.yahoo.com/comment--vari ... 57790.html

That was why she booked this particular date few weeks before, in contrast to YMCA which have booked the event months in advance. Reading further comments online in blogs such as Mr Brown, I could only shake my head further. Though majority of people are sensible enough to discern that whether Roy and HHH were 'entrapped', they had the choice to take the moral higher ground. But instead they took this route. I think they did this on purpose knowing full well that their action was going to stir controversy and reported in major news. If they had stayed nicely in their own little corner, there would be barely any coverage about their protest, probably just a small paragraph mentioned in the MSM. Amazingly, there are still people who somehow believe this is all YMCA/PAP's fault and thought all this was just a conspiracy by the Gahmen.
I do feel a sense of admiration towards people who are willing to put themselves in the line of fire for their causes. But I think one must be careful not to lose one's humanity and basic human conscience in the progress. Kind of like how Kong Hee and the gang did not feel remorse in fleecing CHC's congregation to fund SH's 'evangelical' Crossover Project. -
Getting innocent people involved and they became “victims” as a result of some reasons is no-no.

I also entertained the conspiracy thought on Sat, but thought it couldn't be cos it takes months to prepare special needs kids for a stage performance, and at least a month to book office holders' (MOS TSL) time.https://sg.news.yahoo.com/comment--vari ... 57790.html

Did you know?
\"YMCA has been organising YMCA Proms @ the Park annually at various parks across Singapore since 2007, including Hong Lim Park in 2010.
YMCA started planning for this year’s event in December 2013. On Apr 11, 2014, NParks acknowledged our intent to hold the event and reserved Hong Lim Park venue for our use on Sep 27, pending approval from the necessary authorities. Final approval was given on Sep 9, 2014.
On Sep 27, some 900 participants comprising beneficiaries from 15 VWOs, public volunteers and corporate volunteers from 14 organisations participated in the event. Beneficiaries included individuals with special needs, the elderly, and underprivileged children.\"
Wow, why moblised so many VWOs, public volunteers and corporations just to \"trap\" those 2 jokers?!
All screen grabs on YMCA's preparations of this Sep 27 event could easily be attained from the website. -

Ya, it is a trap laid by getting YMCA to plan for the event months before anyone even know who HHH is.https://sg.news.yahoo.com/comment--vari ... 57790.html

Ya, it is a trap laid by getting special needs children to prepare themselves for months to perform on stage knowing HHH and gang will come heckling them.
What a trap this is, what a trap. -
I do not think it is something planned from the onset…
However, there were changes in timing in the events that allowed the two groups to cross path unintentionally. Perhaps the change of time is debatable.
If really want to call it a trap, then the irrationality of the people involved trap themselves. Thinking on their feet was the name of the game on that fateful day and the YMCA event leveraged but RN and Co. fell into their own irrational trap.
So score 1 and 0 for RN and company for this round… Gong! -

On the YMCA side, date was fixed way before but timing was later confirmed.I do not think it is something planned from the onset....

On the HHH side, she chosed the date and targeted TSL knowing he would be gracing the event.
So, it cannot be a trap imo. It is just a hole that HHH dug for herself, jumped into it and then cried foul.
Roy is better to stir clear of this lady. -
Have not been following this saga closely. Just curious, what is it that they are trying to achieve :scratchhead:
