I'm just curious to find out if one can register in 2A at school A and later register in 2B/2C at school B. However, school B is so popular that it requires balloting in 2B/2C. So can the parents still go for the balloating in 2B/2C without having to withdraw from school A first becasue they do not know for sure whether they are sucessfully in the balloting yet. Can the parents withdraw the place they got from 2A after they got a place in 2B/2C?
In any phase of the exercise, you can only have ONE school per child's name on the registration system. It will be very unfair for the rest if you hold on to school A while trying to register in school B in subsequent phases.
Hi,
Happen to read the above.
Am I right to say that after I have got a place in 2A.
In the event that i change my mind and would like another school, I have to de-register my allocated place in 2A, and then reapply in 2C?
Is this instantanously performed?
My worry is, scully i reject my place in 2A, the system refuse to let me register in 2C and i will be left with nothing.
Anyone try this before?? -

Hi, once you reject your place in 2A, it's instantaneous and you cannot go back in time. Unless you are super sure of your eligibility in 2C, don't reject first. I understand that pp usually have 1 at the 2A school; another at 2B/2C school - about last min (maybe half hour) to put this plan into action. A bit nerve wrecking no?

hi happyprecious,Thank you for all the GREAT advice! Guess St Nicks' out based on distance. And would you choose Fairfield or MGS given the following situation. Also, can someone verified if it’s true that a high number of MGS girls are unfortunately spoiled? My kids are now in international schools, and although it has been tough, I have been consistently teaching my children the value of being grateful for the things we have. And I think all parents would agree with me that values inculcation gets tougher for parents as children get older and become more easily influence by their peers.
1. I have a boy and girl
2. Daddy is ACS boy
3. I stay along the stretch from MGS just outside 2km
4. Our chance of securing a place in Fairfield(co-edu) is almost 100%
5. Our chance for MGS is definitely balloting phase 2B
Thank you once again to all experience parents helping clueless mummy like myself....
I think spoilt/not spoilt ultimately stems from the parents. I have seen privileged pp who are very grounded and those who are very 'proud'.
You have boy and girl - first have to decide if you want them in the same school or not. Once this is determined, I think your choice quite firm. -
This is interesting. A friend with a preschooler told her that he wants to go to US theme parks as his friends have been there. He goes to some premium pre-school.
I've not hear that from my preschooler who goes to average pre-school. Sometimes I just wonder. :? -
when my DS was in Pre-School, there was once he came back with a party bag full of disneyland stuff. Not someone's birthday, but some kid had just returned from disneyland, so whole class received gifts from disneyland.

Some parents can't wait to bring their kids for 'big' trips and kids can't wait to talk about it at school...
Maybe parents are just being generous...or show off, depending on how you look at it

MMM,
My kids do not attend premium pre-schools, so they do not have friends who go to Florida, California or Japan…but occasionally my daughter tells me she wants to go to Hong Kong Disneyland.
auntieM,
Kids will definitely rave about their overseas holidays…it’s normal for kids. But of course there are kids who ‘inherit’ their parents ‘show off’ character and it’s possible to detect from the way kids talk. -
Teachers play a part too...
My DS's teacher will nicely explain to the kids that some of their friends have relatives far away that's why they 'need' to go see them for instance so the other kids wouldn't feel so

A parent of my DS' nursery classmate raved about their CNY trip....where it was so cold that it was 地下十五度 (15 degrees \"underground\") when he meant 零下十五度 (15 degrees below zero).

Something similar happened though not in the form of gift. Some boy in her class went to Japan disney and came back with stuff which he was \"showing off\" to the other K1 kids.....
