yes. it was a smooth and efficient process. i happened to have the opportunity to talk to the Vice Principal about student care. i like her candid view on this and i am looking forward to the years my DS will be in ALPS.

with regards to the school bus pick up timing.

i am staying less than 1km from ALPS. by foot, it would take about 10mins and mainly exposed to the weather.

i have registered for the school bus service. and was informed that for my area (Redhill Close), my pick up time would be 6:30-45 am.

That would basically make my kid to be up before 6am. To be in school by 7:30am which is less than 1km or about 10 mins walk away.

i am still trying to weigh the justification for a school bus given my proximity.

Anyone care to share your views on this. It just makes my heart cringes to wake my kid up so early when i could let him sleep for another 45mins and walk him to school, if the weather permits.

I'm staying at redhill road, a relaxing stroll will need about 20mins. Given the time of pickup, I'd most probably walk my child to school in the morning. Take it as a bonding time plus simple morning exercise. 🙂

If you are staying near Redhill market, it is actually a very long walk to the school. Alternatively, you can walk over to Alexandra Road and hop on a bus from the bus stop at Tanglin View condo. Its two bus stops away. The walk is no joke if it rains.

I live near the Redhill market too. I believe bus no 14, 32 and 64 will go as far as the SEAB premises. Need to walk from there to the school, probably about 7-8 mins. Not sure what’s the procedure for requesting for a public bus stop nearer the school. Currrently, there isn’t really any bus stop near the school along Delta Road.

Hopefully more parents can feedback to LTA 62255 582 about public bus services to this new school.

                    thanks all.

i just realised that is a bus stop just in front of the school. it is directly under the pedestrian overhead bridge.

                    the bus numbers are 51, 139, 186 and 970.

well i do not own a car, so i would have to resort to either taking the school bus, public transport or by foot. My main concern is the 'economic of scale' with the school being so near yet my kid has to wake up so early. In this context, we are being faulted for living nearer to the school :rotflmao:

keeping my :xedfingers: for a car comes next year.

Yes, there is a bus stop along Alexandra Road but I don’t think this is of help to those living in the Redhill or Tiong Bahru area. We need a bus stop along Lower Delta Rd or Delta Rd closer to the school.
