From what I've heard, it's not that heavy. The combi to avoid is bio and geog together as they're both very content heavy. Between Econs and History, I don't think either one is more heavy-going than the other. It all depends on aptitude. Econs has always been touted as the more useful subject in real life. It is also considered the more 'science-y' one, which is why many science students veer towards it.

fyi, there are many more BCME classes than BCMH classes.

No idea what H stands for. So many changes since our time. Promos were over a couple of weeks ago. They've been super busy working on PW. (Another thing that's new to us parents.)

Can I equate (by level of difficulty), as follows ?

H1 - AO-Level
H2 - A-Level
H3 - S-Level

Not really. A parent raised this at a talk at the beginning of the year and the speaker said it's not the same. It's not accurate to compare H1/2/3 against our AO/A/S. Better to understand the differences between H1/2/3. That is H1 and H2 are same level of difficulty, but H1 does less breadth. H3 is more difficult.

I heard something similar fr gal's sch during the subj combi talk ....
Cant equate the present H1 /H2/H3 with our old times of AO/A/S papers...
He added tt the difficulty level of H2 is higher than the old time A paper...( perhaps in his opinion)...

H1 = not hard
H2 = hard
H3 = very hard

RA after Year 4 is for one year at Year 5 only


In year 6 - they progress to H3 if they qualify

RA in year 3/4 is no guarantee to get into RA in Yr 5 for the same subject - still have to sit for test, interview, write personal statement

Even if every student emails Mr Heng to do triple sci in Yr 5/6 - the answer will still be "no" and will be told it is some policy decisions…bla bla bla …in other words, they have been told no point lobbying to do triple science
