Yesterday, my ds showed me the packing list for sec 2 OBS camp next week. I have a few questions if you can help.


1.Need to bring passport?
2.What kind of shoes for water activities? Need to be waterproof?
3.Need to bring 3 1.5 litres of drinking water?
4.Fork & spoon - are plastic ones ok? Will they be used for cooking?
5.Sleeping bag is optional. What will they sleep on if they do not bring one? On the floor?
6.Does NTUC sell cotton twine and solid fuel? If not, where can I buy them?

1) no need passport
2) my DS used an old pair of track shoes that was going to be thrown away
3) yes, 3 1.5l bottles for drinking
4) fork & spoon can be plastic, thought the one I got for him was small, metalic and foldable for easier
5) my DS brought a sleeping bag and a small travel pillow. i suggest you pack one for yours. my DS used the same sleeping bag since primary school for his camps
6) we bought all the OBS stuff from NTUC Xtra. you can find everything there, including solid fuel, water bottles, mosquito patch etc etc

OBS was a fantastic experience for my DS and his friends. He had such a great time and funny stories to tell after that.

Hi experienced HCI parents


My son has just finished his first year in HCI (can’t believe how fast the year has passed!), and i’m wondering what worksheets or notes we have to keep, or whether we can throw them away or pass them to someone? will the notes be useful for sec 2 and up?

Will there be new sci and maths text books and humanities textbooks for Sec 2?

Which year are you referring to? According to my son ( sec2 next year), they only need to buy two books for next year.
