-
Hi
Thanks for sharing everyone.
Does anyone know of any enrichment centre / class that has small ratio and parents are allow to enter to support the child?
I did try group music class with my son he enjoy the lesson but he cannot sit still and would tend to get out of his seat.
Sushigal:your girl took individual piano lesson or group class? -
1-1 piano in my house.
You can try growing up gifted in United Sq. Either parent can join in with the children.
Used to send my gals there when they are 2 years old. -

Did you place your child in group tutition or 1 to 1 home tutition for child with learning problem eg ADHD or mild autism in mainstream school?
Which tutition/enrichment centres or 1 to 1 teacher you are engaging to support the child.

Hi, I'm a tutor trained in teaching special needs children in academic subjects as well as music & piano
Hi Sushigal
My son is 4 years old.
The 1 to 1 tutor you hired is it the normal tutor or those tutor who is trained in teaching special needs child in academic subject ?
My son ADHD is walking around, lying down on the floor in.group class.I am thinking of changing him to 1 to 1 tutor as I don't think his behaviours is acceptable in group class.
Is that consider not serious ADHD?
Do you know what your fren did to help his/ her son to improve his classroom behaviour to function in the school?
I work with ADHD and mild-autism children who are enrolled in mainstream schools, and I have two high functioning autistic students who are taking their O levels this year.
Some parents may just hire a regular tutor, I think that is fine. For example, if your child is sufficiently good in math, he won't really need a special needs math tutor. A regular tutor would suffice. But depending on your child, sometimes a special needs tutor may be more suitable as we have the necessary tools and experience to capture your child's attention during the entire lesson while making sure they are understanding the subject material.
My O level students were failing in their classes because their school teacher wasn't able to make lessons interesting, so most of the time they are daydreaming in school. They did not know which chapters were taught, nor when their test dates were... My role is to teach the content in a way that my students can understand, and find interesting enough to stay focused throughout a 1.5h lesson. For example, my students are boys and they're really into the Avengers right now. So it won't be surprising if you hear me using superheroes to teach certain concepts. -
I do freelance home-based therapy for learners with dyslexia, ADHD, weak and slow learners. I have a Masters in Special Educational Needs and have over 12 years of experience in teaching mainstream schools, special education schools, educational therapy. Currently doing home-based therapy. Let me know if you are interested to know more.
