Montfort Junior

cttuy:
dear edgrace, thank you. I am currently checking out the information on montfort and I do like what I read from the school website so far. However, I was worried and wondering why there seems to be a decline in registration from 2006 to 2013. It is certainly good to hear that you have had a good experience with the primary school. May I ask how long have your child/children been to this school. Thanks again.
This is my second year with them, as to why registration is falling, I really can't answer for that
I guess the bad reputation stays and over time, it shows... I'm just speaking from personal experience, and I don't have negative experiences with them. It could also be that parents are more inclined to academically strong schools and there are more of that in Hougang. As for me, academics is something I want to take charge of and not leave it to the school. What's more important is the environment, and character building the school provides. This school has a rich and vibrant arts scene and the effort they make to infuse fun into school life
Feel free to inquire, I'll do my best to answer them

I agree I haven't heard anything bad about Montfort Junior. Not so sure about what I heard from friends who have children in the secondary school
Hahah! I agree! Just try to ensure somehow they won't land in the sec sch
I told myself I rather choose St Pats ... Crossing my fingers that day won't come!

[quote="jsdarkangel"]Thanks edgrace for the info. Tried and applied to join the facebook group and till now still have not accepted by the admin.[/
Im guessing it’s exam time and parents might be busy stressing themselves out?
but try to drop them a notification? Let me scroll down that list and see who I know from there and get them to check for new members yeah… -

Do you stay in the east? If son does well in school can aim for Victoria. Also near St Pats. Hahaha I heard St Pats and CHIJ opposite share an overhead bridge where many of them fall in love. -
thank you edgrace and pokoyoko for your replies. thank you too for suggesting Victoria as i didn’t know about it. I assumed from the school’s name that it was for girls ;-D. Will check out more info from the website.
regarding montfort, the website info really looks good. may I ask edgrace in which year your child is already in? -

Just curious! Why do you all want to choose a boys school instead of mixed? -
for me it is not so much because it’s an all boys school but more coz it’s a catholic school ;-D

My kids will be in P5 and P3 next year
phew..exams are over... finally! We joined the Montfort family in 2013..
As for St Pat's and CHIJ, lol..but yes, so true, but who can blame them these teenagers?
No, i'm not staying in the east... but north east. And there is a direct bus to Victoria or St Pat...
And yes, it's not about boys school..It's because we are Catholics too, and MOntfort upholds very strong Catholic values.. in fact the Principal mentioned during orientation... more like a reminder actually., (quote)\"Please remember that we ARE a Catholic school and we have masses and prayers, so if you are not comfortable with your children attending masses please think again. As for prayers, there is morning and after school prayers, Hail Mary over the PA system\" (unquote).. hahahha.. i remembered the look on some parents' faces
Friday masses are exempted for non-catholics but 'Big' masses like Maundy Thursday, exam mass, teacher's day mass - everyone has to be present. They might also be introducing Grace before meals and what-nots....
I personally think boys schools are fun, for the boys... the bonding, brotherhood, the boys' stuffs, you know...
cttuy, so your kids are in there? or you're still thinking about it? -
Hi everyone. My son is joining Montfort next year. At the moment we are having issues with transport as the school bus vendor told us that our house is out of their location. Does any parents face this issue? :?:
