The notes is actually more for us parents to know what to expect and what lies ahead, as my dd don't take any tuition so her only help is from us parents in the past, and we don't have IP during our time, so need to find out more šŸ˜„

Every subject will come with a course outline listing out the topics to be covered plus assessment criteria. You will be able to find out more when she brings back the course outlines after the Y1 orientation.

Lots of stuff will be on the internal school network, iNet. Your daughter (and you) will have access after school starts. No need to worry about it now as everyone starts out together. We also didn't know anything about the IP curriculum and my daughter was educated overseas until mid-Yr2, but she caught up and managed fine. I've found that RGS is quite good about providing info.

I'm not sure if this is well-known, but my batch (graduated last year) compiled all the Y1-4 notes we had into a website for our juniors to use. I think we publicised it to the current Y4s, but not sure if the juniors know about it. Not so many notes for lower sec, but upper sec has many. Hope it's useful!

Yes, my dd has this link too. Thanks to all the seniors who have compiled all these notes for their juniors.

Thanks a ton for sharing :thankyou: :goodpost:

            SG:
Can anyone share the RGS Sec 1 booklist? Also, what is the recommended number of school uniforms, PE attire, ties, culottes, etc.?

Would like to purchase ahead of time to avoid the crowd after posting day.

            Thanks for your help.

            Hi SG,

I don't have the Sec 1 book list but as for uniforms, I bought 2 pcs of Pinafore, 1 necktie, 1 culottes, 2 sets of PE (shirts/shorts) and 4 pcs white polo shirt. Then later on they will give her house t-shirt, CCA shirt and class shirt which they will use once in awhile.

            I hope this will help.

May I ask whether Physics or Biology is more popular in RJ? Thank you!

Hi, even though I'm currently in Year 2 I think that Biology is more popular in RJ. If I'm not wrong, when there was a sharing of the RJC A-level results, the percentage of RGS girls who take Physics is significantly lesser than Biology. Another reason I think this way is because of the recent RA selection test. There were lesser people sitting for the Physics test than Biology test (even though I don't know if this is because of the very strict selection by the teachers) Hope this helps! : šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„

Edit: Does someone know how to fix the quoting problem! (Sorry I'm new here)

Based on the number of BCM and PCM classes in RJC Year 5 this year, Biology is the more popular choice.

Hi, just to share my experience. Initially, I too bought 1 culotte only. Then with orientation for one week plus a stay over, I was forced to buy the second culotte at last minutes.

Isn't the polo shirt also the PE shirt?
