      hi Champion,

thks for the info. hard to plan for a holiday with no concrete dates 😛

was telling DS that he will be getting his result in less than a month, and he started to sulk and give me an unsettling face.
he was afraid that relatives will start to compare his result with another cousin of his and he doesnt like to be compared, stressed i guess. i have been a kid before too and i know that lousy feeling when you have a smarter cousin around you...whahha
told him not to bother with others comments, easier said than done i know.
assured him i will stand by him.
DH was still very hopeful that he may give us a surprise by doing well :)..
btw, DS is always very botherline in his result, so if he can get into express, i will be over the moon!
i know my expectation is not high as i have read so many of the parents here with bright kids.
so long as he done his best, it will be my best expecation.

      Totally understand what you mean.

We told our child to direct anyone who ask about her PSLE score to us, just say \"ask my parents please, I am over and done with for PSLE\", and we will fend off all the kayponess from there, regardless of whether her results are good or bad.

Some parents are either kp or weird :siao: ...results are not even released...how to tell them going to which school? Even if there are some in mind, I would not even say.

Haha ya lor. I do have a couple of schools in mind based on what I think would suit my dd's personality best, but until results are released, it's like counting the chickens before they're hatched.

Finally sat down and flipped through the Secondary School Selection book over the weekend, thinking maybe to do a preliminary list of 6 choices. Provided she does well, I think my first 2 choices (which I think are my dd's first 2 choices as well) remains. The other 4 will have to wait till the results are out.

without any results, there is nothing one can do.

after this crazy marathon, chill…the kids deserve it, so do the parents.
from now till the release of psle results, there are about 3 weeks plus.

its good to list down 2 lists of schools before results are released. Knowing your child's standard by now, you will more or less know which schools she will qualify.

The 2nd list will be the one with COPs much lower than your child's expected results.

I find these useful so that when the results are out, you wont be caught in a 'panic button' situation.

Did you mean to list out 2 grp of schools? :scratchhead:

Well if you have nothing better to do from now till release of PSLE results.

i learnt from my kids' experience - for both my two kids, I only did 1 list.

For DD, she performed better in PSLE than her school standard, so I just need to choose an IP school instead of my original list of MS schools.

For DS, he performed worse in PSLE, so my original list went to waste becos he didnt qualify at all for any of the schools which I originally select.

Then, we had to quickly run through the Admission book/go to the schools which he qualify in order to create a new list. That had to be done within the week before submission.

Did you mean to list out 2 grp of schools? :scratchhead:[/quote]What I did with my daughter was to prepare a list with a couple of schools from every likely range of scores: eg. 210-220, 220-230, 230-240 etc. The idea was that whatever score she got, we could use some part of that list. In the actual listing of 6 schools, my plan was to list a couple just a bit higher than her score, a couple around or slightly below her score, and a couple of 'safe' options. Seemed like a reasonable plan.
