      Hi all,

BTW, I would like to send my son to Maha Bodhi Student Care Center. Any comment on this Student Care? Is it a good choice? Because I am working, I won’t have time to go through his homework with him in the morning. I thought it will be good if the center can guide him. Thank you.

Personally, I don't recall any significant price difference unless it is some special discounted items.

Personally, I prefer to go to popular as it is less crowded and I can buy as and when I like. Also prefer using credit card so that I can earn more rebate. Currently popular is having the $1 sticker for every $20 spent and it can be used to offset purchases during the suntec fair in dec. For that reason, my Sec 1 dd is asking me to buy her Sec 2 textbooks from popular where possible.

The flip side is, I need to manually monitor those stuff that I need to buy from school eg. exercise books, buddhist study books (where applicable), books that are out of stock in popular, etc... Ideally, I would like my dc to buy those exercise books before school closes so that we don't need to go back to school to buy the other books.

Also teachers do encourage the recycling of those colored folders and we've stack of it at home now....You can't get those colored folders in popular.

            Hi, FantasyLandDreams,

my P2 girl is in Guzheng.

So far she only attends Wednesday mornings CCA sessions.

Is your child going for the exam in Nov?

            Hi
Any parents with P2 kids in guzheng CCA now?
May I know if GUzheng cca for the P2 kids is on Wednesday morning only or both Wed AND Saturday morning (for ensemble practice)?
            Thanks.

            Hi wolfgirl,
Thanks for the reply. My P1 dd wants to join Guzheng next year, so I have to find out now for her. By the way, who is the teacher in charge for guzheng, is it Ms Dominique Oh? May I know if guzheng is taught by the outside teacher? If yes, how much do you need to pay per month? Thanks in advance for sharing.

              Hi Fantasylanddreams,

my girl joined Guzheng only in P2.
There was some enrichment guzheng program (for about 3weeks) under the PAL program in P1 and my girl fell in love with Guzheng.

              Fees:
Can't remember the total amount paid.
I remember it as about $8-10 per session. total sessions is around 25-20 sessions in a year.
and around $15 for nails and tape.
The 'pu' (music score- from NUSCFA to be used for exam] is about $20

There are two teachers, Ms Dominique Oh and Mr Goh.
              However, its usually Ms Oh.
Guzheng is taught by an external vendor.

The Guzheng CCA will issue forms/instructions for students to register for guzheng exam online via NUSCFA.

                  Can skip grade.
Cos the pieces they learn in CCA happen to be the grade 2 exam pieces.
So my girl registered for grade 2 (skip grade 1).

Hi parents, my son will be in P1 in 2015. He’s due for a filing for this molar tooth next mth. I’m just wondering if the dentist in school will fix it? Or should we go ahead with the treatment next mth?

                    Thanks.

From hearsay, they supervise half an hour only ( I cannot validate) like most student care. Still better to go through their bags and check their homework ourselves.
