        sleepy:
in the midst of adjusting. My dd1 always among top in her class so i kenna big shock with dd2. Below baseline this kind of thing never happen before with dd1

Nowadays my standard question to dd2 is can meet baseline? Very jialut
I didn't even bother to ask class average, get freak out once more only

But i cant scold dd2, can only tell her 加油
my son is not the top...above average. but my younger one is the lower percentile kind...like you, I don't ask about class average because that will freak me out even more.
sleepy, we are in the same boat.

Bad results --- what is considered bad? Very relative.

Last SA1, my dd and her ex-classmate were talking about their EL results. Her friend told my dd that she scored very bad... Only 93.5. When my dd told me, I told her maybe she heard wrongly, maybe it was 83.5. How can 93.5 be considered bad?? She checked with her the next day and confirmed it was 93.5!!!
:faint: then my dd results must be borderline liao.

wait! 93.5% for the subject? isn't that an A???
anyway, 83.5% is also very good in my opinion...mind you, this is English.

                Yup.. 93.5% for English.
So now I learn to take 'results very bad' with a pinch of salt.
Told my dd, imagine she had 'consoled' her friend.... She would be consoling someone who'd scored 15-20marks higher than herself. 😆

But then again, need look at that child’s usual performance. If your dd’s classmate has been getting 98 all along, then to her 93 could be bad

I have compiled a list for dd2 to revise. Hopefully she can pull up her socks

                        不要这样吓我
I want to read my manga leisurely, dont wanna sweat over her result le

First time i experienced this, been quite hands off all these years with both kids since i do not believe in chasing every mark. But this time round dd2 result is alarming enough trigger concern
