I did not plastic wrap the books. So far after a year books are in generally okay condition.
Anyone knows how to get book list to buy for P2? Do the teachers from P1 follow up to P2? These days in NYPS do they still have medals/trophy for 1st,2nd,3rd places in the class? For P1 class that is. -

Not all the teachers will follow up to P2. E.g. FT will follow up but other subject teachers will change.
Class positions will not be revealed.
For P1, some awards are:
High Achiever Awards (Top 5 in each class)
Bilingual (Top in Eng+Chin of the P1 cohort)
Best in Mathematics (Top of the P1 cohort)
Outstanding Character Awards (2 per class)
Good Progress Award for Chinese
Rising Star Award (English) (selected from LSP students)
Rising Star Award (Maths) (selected from LSP students) -

Thanks for all your valuable sharing. Another question. I thought NYP teaches 弟子规？But I do not see it being listed as one of the textbooks for us to purchase? Do you know when if this will be introduced to the kids? -

弟子规 doesn’t have any textbook.
Teaching of 弟子规 is during curriculum time. I am also curious exactly when they teach it and whether they teach it explicitly, as in whether they explain it clearly. Is it during Chinese lesson? My blur daughter could never tell me anything about school!
Do they still practise having P5 buddies teaching the P1s to buy food on the first 3 days of school?

Can someone show a picture of the ‘basket’ that the students can put under their desks? What is the number lock for? Is it the 3-digit, small one used to lock luggage? Thanks!

A copy of 弟子规漫画书 will be distributed to the students. My boy also cant tell me much about how/ what he learns dizigui in school. Seems like the learning is during morning assembly.
