next Mon & Tues (10 and 11 Nov 2014 : last week of Term 4) -
besides donating used P1 to P6 Textbooks, Rgps pupils can also donate used or brand new un-used Assessment books (so long as condition is good, re-usable).
On these 2 days (Mon & Tues) :-
at the entrance of the canteen (near bookshop) :
several labelled boxes and tables are set up, for parents and pupils to place their used Textbooks / Assessment books.
On Wed (12 Nov : Parents meet Tr session), from 8 am to 12 noon -
parents can go to the same area, to select and collect any used or brand new un-used Textbooks or Assessment books, that have been left on the tables & inside labelled boxes.
At the end of the day, any remaining books will be sent to the needy.
next Thurs is last day of school -
hi 2015 P1 parents,
(born 2008)
for Maths Workbooks 1A and 1B (\"My Pals are Here\") -
No need to wrap up these two workbooks.
for Semester 1 (Jan to June) -
Maths Tr will ask parents to tear up the worksheets from Workbook 1A, page by page, staple them together chapter by chapter, and give the whole stack back to her, filing in school cabinet.
After P1 pupils done worksheets in class :
Maths Tr will mark, return to parents, to file at home. (ring file)
Come Semester 2 (July to Nov), with Maths Workbook 1B -
same thing repeat : tear up worksheets page by page, staple them chapter by chapter. -
good morning everyone!
will p1 students automatically receive a primary school smart card (concession card for bus/train travel) from the school at the start of the school year? just wondering if itโs any point applying one (now) for a child about to enter p1 next year. -
Has your daughter past 7 years old ?
Child concession :-
Free travel for all children, under 7 years old
Some kids are born later part of the year.
although start P1, but not yet reached 7 years old :
no need to pay for public Transport.
much later part of the year -
school will help P1 pupils prepare card, but not in Term 1. -

Club 2008 kids cater to all children, who are due for 2015 Primary 1 admission
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 61&t=23780
this thread here cater to (P1 to P6 current + ex) Rgps pupils / parents / Teachers, and their alumni & parent volunteer pre-school kids entering P1, and potential P3 outside parents interested to enrol their dd into our school, for Gep.
if you need to discuss 2015 P1 Rgps issue pertaining to individual class, on Orientation day -
may join your unique P1 class whatsapp group. (WA)
On Orientation day :
you may lead as class Administrator, start to initiate to invite all your dd classmates' parents (30 classmates per P1 class), to join your class WA group, by gathering all those interested parents' telephone contact numbers.
Different class have 3 different subject Tr, assigned.
most first time parents here prefer to join WA group, to discuss latest most up to date information, perculiar to their own, unique class.
Eg : most recent changes made by our school, in any particular area.
When one parent send a message through WA -
the other 29 parents in the same class (or more, if both Father and Mother also join in) : all get updated, instantaneously.
btw, some P1 parents here had already taken the initiative to invite parents join their WA goup, by identifying which class their daughter going to.
(may refer past few pages, this thread)
WA not just for mommies, to join.
A lot of Daddies also joined WA : -
as they also wish to be kept in the loop : know what's going on inside the classes here, to contribute ideas & to discuss within the same class whether agree or disagree with recent changes made to school (if any issue arise)
During school Term :
sometimes our school Principal may invite opinion or suggestions from parents (P1 to P6), over Breakfast makan table : how to improve our school further ?
Thus if there is any issue arising from any class, parents can discuss within WA first, then nominate one or two parents (can be Father or Mother) to represent their class, meet up with P and VPs at breakfast table, raise the issue for discussion.
So in a P1 class of 30 kids : there may be more than 30 parents' names, inside WA. -

....
thanks, phtthp. i was asking for a friend whose child (next year 7yo) has not obtained a concession card for free travel. i understand that it expires in april of the year the child turns 7 so i wanted to know if the school will issue the card immediately in p1 (then friend's child need not apply now) or later in the year. -
xuanting:
I suggest your friend just go ahead and apply for the child concession now. Afterall, it is free travel till April.phtthp:

Even if the school is able to get the concession card out by Feb, it still needs to be activated (at MRT ticket office) and I don't think it is FOC travel till April. I can't remember when the school issued the concession card this year, but definitely not immediately. Think it was several weeks later. The school also arranged for the girls to have their photo taken.
