Still confuse with the textbooks. Must we buy all the textbooks on the list? How to choose them?

      Any advise ? Thanks 🙂

        Hi Mummy2008,

Yes, for P1 you have to buy all the textbooks listed, except for the MT subjects that your child is not taking of course 🙂 and those that are listed optional. Under the stationery list, you have to buy all the compulsory items. Unless you have them already, like drawing block and glue stick etc. But the exercise books will be necessary so buy according to the quantity recommended.

Chinese textbooks won't be ready till Dec, but I suspect it will only be ready after school reopens. This is due to the change in syllabus. Happened before to my P3 girl when they made some revision to the chinese textbooks last year. But you can check with Popular if you are near to one, they stock the textbooks too.

Anyone DD is in the student care and taking the 4.30pm school bus? I was told there will not be any 4.30pm bus for the 1st week as the CCA bus will only start 12th Jan. I am still trying to figure out what I should do. it is going to be a big problem for me. By the way, my DD is in P1 - Charity.

My girl is in P1 charity too!

Very appreciate your information , wanderlust!

Will follow the list then :D.

as for label name, should I put my dd Chinese name too? Is it necessary? Saw my friend makes label for her dd...first line English name, 2nd Chinese.name (in Chinese character ) and last line class name

            Thanks again 🙂

Do note that there are some optional items in the textbook lists, for example the Grammar Handbook and Small Readers (for Chinese) Previously they had character cards too, but whether or not they are used depends on the individual teachers. My older girl had to use the Character cards in P1 but P2 chinese teacher didn’t use it at all. Grammar handbook also not used by all teachers. So you can leave them out first and if the teachers request for them to bring to class then you can buy later. But your daughter will have to buy it from the bookshop herself.

For name labels it’s up to you I guess. You only need the Chinese name on chinese books I guess.

I will not take the optional items first, will get it when it's needed.

We will be going to the school next week 😄

                    Hi Piggy77

My elder gal will be P3 next year. I was told Top 2 classes for P3 2015 are Kindness and Patience.

What I know is that top 5 girls or top several in current P2 classes are either going to Kindness or Patience next year.

For the rest, I am not sure how the distribution is like.

                        Hi Lonejean,

thanks for the intel, my girl is going to P3 Patience whilst her friends are going to Kindness and she feeling sad about it. Understands from her teacher that kids are being distributed across classes base on EL & Math…surprisingly Mother Tongue is not a contributing factor.
