If the school is willing to provide breakdown of applicants by citizenship and distance, does these include online applications? The school have information on the distance of online applicants too?
yes I'm curious about this too. It makes a lot of difference πŸ˜‚

Dd posted to scgs ip. 255, 3rd choice. 2nd choice was Mgs olevels, couldn't get in! This yrs cutoff must be higher than last!!

MGS O Level COP is 255, u can try to appeal but that would be giving up your SCGS IP instead.

Thanks emoh, yup I called the school too out of curiousity. She probably lost out on decimals... but good thing is that she was actually torn between which of the two (mgs O or scgs ip) to put as 2nd choice. So since it's been decided for her, she's happy at not having to do O levels πŸ˜‚ so we're not going to appeal.

Could anybody share the cop of mgs?

2 classmates of Dd got in mgs at 256. Mine 255 didn't get in. So it should be somewhere there. How about your dd?
Not much cop reporting here. Why is everyone talking about school uniforms. Don't think the school will kick you out if you turn up in home clothes lah. πŸ˜‚

Hi P1 Parents, Have you all managed to buy the P1 Chinese textbooks (new syllabus) from the school bookshop? I tried Popular but it’s out of stock. Only the 1A is available?

Do note that there are some optional items in the textbook lists, for example the Grammar Handbook and Small Readers (for Chinese) Previously they had character cards too, but whether or not they are used depends on the individual teachers. My older girl had to use the Character cards in P1 but P2 chinese teacher didn’t use it at all. Grammar handbook also not used by all teachers. So you can leave them out first and if the teachers request for them to bring to class then you can buy later. But your daughter will have to buy it from the bookshop herself.

For name labels it’s up to you I guess. You only need the Chinese name on chinese books I guess.

Anyone DD is in the student care and taking the 4.30pm school bus? I was told there will not be any 4.30pm bus for the 1st week as the CCA bus will only start 12th Jan. I am still trying to figure out what I should do. it is going to be a big problem for me. By the way, my DD is in P1 - Charity.

My girl is in P1 charity too!

      Hi Mummy2008,

Yes, for P1 you have to buy all the textbooks listed, except for the MT subjects that your child is not taking of course πŸ™‚ and those that are listed optional. Under the stationery list, you have to buy all the compulsory items. Unless you have them already, like drawing block and glue stick etc. But the exercise books will be necessary so buy according to the quantity recommended.

Chinese textbooks won't be ready till Dec, but I suspect it will only be ready after school reopens. This is due to the change in syllabus. Happened before to my P3 girl when they made some revision to the chinese textbooks last year. But you can check with Popular if you are near to one, they stock the textbooks too.

      Hi Mummy2008,

Sorry I didn't see your post before the orientation. Parking is always an issue especially if you need to park for a few hours due to school events. No choice, I had to climb up from Wilkie Edge. If you are lucky you can get a public parking spot along the road towards Selegie but there very few lots. But no worries for picking up. They close two eyes if we are just waiting for school dismissal. πŸ˜„

What class is your DD in?
