Anyone in ip is taking 3rd language and finding that they still cope well? Any advice is appreciated . Thanks.
I guess it all boils down to interest. My dd loves all things japanese and enjoys her third lang very much. It is pretty time consuming with 3 hours of lesson per week plus e learning and lots of homework. She's blessed with a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher and a small circle of study mates just as crazy over the language as her. So far she and her friends are coping well and so we'll continue with the lessons for next year and see how it goes.

Many thanks for your reply! Does 3rd lang contribute to the overall marks? If she doesn't find that she can cope, can she drop it? -
With a T score of 253, is it safe to apply the IP route?

You can put Cedar(IP) as 1st choice and Cedar (O level) as the 2nd choice. -

You are right! VS does LA and Cedar does Eng. Startg next yr both schs will be doing Eng. Probably to align their IP curriculums further. Currently Cedarians and Victorians take a common Eng and Maths at yr end.anneshirleygilbert:
Hi ilovelaksa,
First of all, I like your name cos I like laksa too.
Secondly, like you, I am very glad my daughter is in Cedar. She has enjoyed herself thoroughly. I have also found the teachers very helpful. They do give their numbers so my daughter can whatsapp them to clear her doubts.
Last, what is LA? I read in your earlier posts on critieria for promotion... Eng, HMT and LA.
Tks
Anne
Hi! I believe that LA is Language Arts.

I think 1.5 = 44.5%. 3rd lang can be used for GPA calculation --> 1 1st lang + 1 humanities subj + 1 science subj + 3 others. Yes, 3rd lang can be dropped during the year - you just need to fill up a form from the language centre and notify the school. Hope this helps

This year's results look similar to last year's. So I think yr score (which is a great one) is definitely safe for the IP or O lvl tracks in Cedar.Snoopy5:
