Cedar is not a sap school. Your +2 will not be counted.
At 247 you can try cedar o level but I think cut off for o level route last year was 249, so you may have to be prepared to appeal.

247+2 to try for IP seems a little risky but you can put as 1st choice and try to appeal later if needed. But best to make sure in your 6 choices, you have good express schools (O Level track) within your range to cover the risk.

Think there was an earlier discussion on the EESIS cutoff, which is 257.xx. This means top 3% is >=257 (vs 258 last year). There was also an earlier discussion of 249 as the cutoff for top 10% of cohort, since this is the cutoff for offering category 3 3rd language (vs 250 last year).

If the is the case, it means that the number of students between 250-256 are more than last year in terms of % competing for schools. My guess is this :
-schools with cutoffs between 256-261 to drop by 1 point from last year
-schools with cutoffs at 250-255 range may stay around the same or even increase by 1 point from last year, depending on demand

Anyone want to comment on my guess?

Interesting - how to deduce that number of students between 250-256 will be more than last year from EESIS ?

I was thinking need to estimate number of pupils from cohort size ? 2014 cohort 42,336 P6. Top 10% (249 and above) = 4233 pupils. Top 3% (257.xx and above) =1270 pupils.

My DD scored 244 + 3 for her PSLE . Thinking of putting her either in Nan Chiau or Chung Cheng but most of her friends are going to Cedar. Can some one advise if it is possible to appeal for her result for ‘O’ level track, is appeal the only way? I missed the open house for Chung Cheng but I heard of the their talent program for HCL . Anyone heard of it …Sorry for asking so many questions , thanks in advance. I am staying in Central.

Put RI as your first choice. If you can't get in, then appeal.

When you appealed online, the website will tell you what to submit. It didn't mention any personal statement or recommendation from teacher but I asked my son to write personal statement and I also got a letter from his form teacher and CCA teacher. As letters from teachers may take a while, it is better you ask for the letters now.

You need to sell something about yourself. Don't only highlight academic achievement because RI already has many students that are outstanding in their academic achievement. You need to highlight your leadership skills, sports achievement, music/art achievement, CCA achievement, community service, etc.

Yes…spoken to SAP school principal today…the COP indicated in the booklet is the score of the last student accepted into the school. Doesn’t matter he used HMT BONUS point or not…once you applied to SAP… the HMT bonus points add in automatically to form the final t score for admission.[/quote]

Yes…the COP doesn’t include DSA admission… a student can have 230 but got accepted by school due to CCA… so those are outside of the COP.

For cedar.. your HMT bonus point is not counted since they are not SAP school....so you can only use 247 for admission. I dont think you stand any chance with 247 for IP in cedar or any other IP school. Even O level at cedar need 249 based on last year COP.
