Has anyone made a comparison between HCI & RI and list down all the pros and cons for and against each school ?
-
Just to check whether anyone knows about the hci current affair talk for sec 1 on 15.03.10. My son was not able to go for the talk due to his cca. I am wondering is the talk important?

Is the subject too sensitive to be commented upon ? lolZ -

Hi, i guess its not a matter of sensitiveness. More in your personal needs n requirement. For eg. Lets say a sap school, HCL issue. Some kids weak in chinese might not want to get in sap because of difficulty. However the parents might think its a good environment for the child to learn chinese and culture. Every schools have their own culture and prestidge, difficult to compare.verykiasu2010:

According to the school, this IP batch did very well though one of the top HCI students was from the O level stream.
My son went thru 4 years in HCI and am in JC now, let me share something with parents, the IP programme is actually much more rigourous than the O level programme!
They are tested very frequently, so they are always preparing for the next test!
But they also play very hard, the school make sure they also have fun during sabbaticals, do the things they like, give themselves a break and just have plain fun!
And one thing they have over the O level programme, Project Work. They have already done lots of projects in year 1-4, so Project work is a breeze for them in JC!verykiasu2010:
Go ask the principal

For HCI, over and above the academic strength, they emphasize alot on character building, being a school with deep Chinese culture beginnings!
So, it is really something that parents and their children have to decide, is that something they care about!daisyt:

Well, I can vouch for that! We have really alot of tests, where EVERYTHING you do is counted in your marks, so everything is a test, and you'll have to revise really hard in order not to lose out.According to the school, this IP batch did very well though one of the top HCI students was from the O level stream.

Anyone can advise where HCI students normally have their tuition for the various subjects?
Kindly PM me the contact. -
Other than Languages, it is near impossible to find tuition centres or teachers for the rest of the subjects as Hwa Chong, like other IP schools has a IP syllabus, so most tuition centres or tuitors will not be familiar with their syllabus so if you go to any of those, they might not be able to teach according to the Hwa Chong syllabus.
