2014 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

2014 psle score 228 should I select as :
1 Presbyterian High ( last yr cop is 233, worry that a 5 points different is too slim chance )
2. AMKSS ( last yr cop is 228, heard, this yr is going to be +1 or 2…)
or should I place AMKSS as my 1st choice since 228 is also borderline… I mean, in case there are too many 228s placing AMKSS as their lst choice… -
Hi skc mummy and whitecarrotcake I have the same score with your dds, appreciate any input please.
I have score 258+2 (HMT)
1) RGS (Last year COP 259)
2) MGS (IB) 256
3) SCGS (IP) 251
4) NJC (IP) 255 (not very keen cause Co-ed)
5) MGS (Os) 252
6) Crescent Girls (Os) 245
Am I too greedy if I put NYGH (IP) 261 for no. 2 and drop NJC? -

Hi Dreangear, do you have any comments?gardenia64:
No use. U can pay money for appeal, but it did not change your child t-score at end. As t-score is unique for each pupil.
Why not? -

My feel is that if the paper is marked wrongly, then the score should be adjusted -

Oh ? Mt is CL ?
Yes I know one girl 256, 4 A stars. Mom is wanting to wriggle out of her confirmed offer too.pm123:
Just wonder...if u know of this 2014 PSLE result,
1, anyone gets 4A* with Tscore lower than 260 ?
2, anyone get 3A* & MT ( CL) A, tscore lower than 255?
3, anyone gets 3A*& EL A, tscore lower than 255 ?
Tq
One mom said her child has 2A*, 1A. 1 B ( Malay) with Tscore 269 :yikes: ..is this possible ? Is Malay so hard to get A ? -
Hi parents, any idea about 2014 overall result compared to past two years? Any chances of increasing cop by 3 or 4 points? Do you think students who score 260 plus is less compared to other years? Any feedback from known persons? Tks

I'm sure it's not possible to get 269 with either 2A* or one subject with B.
Most of the 260 plus score with minimum 3A*s. -
I think your choices are fine. Most schools vary their COP from previous years by ±3. Therefore, your kid has a slim chance to enter Commonwealth unless you appeal.
Hi Experience mummies and advisors,
Really need some advise on the school selection. My boy got 235 in his psle and we live in Jurong West. These are our options:
1) Commonwealth (238)
2) Maris Stella High (236)
3) Zhong Hua Sec (234) The distance is pretty far and we are in a dilemma if this shd be our 3rd choice
4) Fuhua Sec (232)
5) Clementi Town (232)
6) Jurong Sec (227)
I seriously need some advise if our choice is correct. Appreciate your advises. Thanks! -

If you can't make it to the first 2 choices, you should be able to get to MGS IP or SCGS IP. All the best! -

Don't think the cop will increase by 3 or 4 points especially for top schools. Currently EESIS offers from 257/258 onwards which indicates the same trend as last year. Hence students with 260 plus shouldn't be less competitive.
