A for Chinese and A for other subjects will show big difference when it converted to T-Score. The reason is simple: According to past years' results, for Chinese, around 84% students achieved A/A* every year, for other subjects only around 43% students achieved A/A*. Why MOE doing that? Let students feel good for their Chinese test results. But when it converted to T-Score, it will give you true picture. For example, if you got A for Chinese, maybe you are at lower end, just higher than 16% students, much lower than the average score which at 50%. Your T-score could be less than 40 marks. But for other subjects, if you got A, at least your score is higher than 57% students, your lowest T-score for sure higher than 50 marks ( 57%>50%). Extreme case, the difference between A for Chinese and A for other subjects could be more than 20 marks. A for Chinese means you are better than 16% students only, A for other subjects means you are better than at least 57% students.

So what does this mean? An A or A* for Chinese MT actually contributes less to a student's T-score than an A or A* for other subjects? :?

The weightage for both languages is 200 while the rest is 100.

          Why is this so?

              I have doubts?
              The best T-score is 280, 280/4 = 70
              Let us assume 3A* = 3 * 70 = 210
              258-210 = 48
1C (CL) could get 48 marks?

This is wrong info. All subjects bear equal weightage.

Thought this logic applies to other subjects too?
have they tampered with the MT weightage again? no right?
