Hello Wan,laughingcat,
do u go thru page by page or use it like a dictionary? How many words do u teach per day? I was wondering if I should read some short stories b4 referring to the book as a dictionary n act out the words to reinforce. How old is ur child?
So sorry for the late reply. Hehehehe I have been so busy lately.
I tried to teach the common words first like ζη etc so that I can form a a short sentence for repeatability. Just like what Berries is also doing. In fact, books like Odonata also have this concept. In fact some of the English readers are also using this concept. So this is not very new lah.
I try to introduce at least 2 or 3 new words per week. Each time do with lots of games and sing lots of silly songs which we invent ourselves. -

Tamarind, THX! I will take note of the review.Actually there are lots of reviews, as well as pictures of the pages for most books.
For example :
http://product.dangdang.com/product.aspx?product_id=9213954
I look for the total number of reviews. δΈδΈζ ·ηε‘ζ’ ζ has 16414 reviews, and the overall rating is 5 stars. So it must be good
I buy all the books that have hundreds or thousands of good reviews. I always read the reviews to find out whether the books are worth buying.
Parents who are not able to understand the reviews, can always check out my recommendations in my blog.
As for whether it is suitable for P1, note that our P1 Chinese standard is very low compared to China. I bought many books in the 3 - 6 age group : http://book.dangdang.com/children/3-6, I think many of our P1 kids will find the words in these books very challenging.
If the books are too difficult, I just keep them until my kids are older.
You can also look for books for age 7 - 10 :
http://book.dangdang.com/children/7-10
But note that kids at this age are already reading long novels in China.
